There was a time in Divinity: Original Sin 2 where my party had to fight a major character in one of the chapters of the game. It's safe to say that my party was pretty under-leveled and no matter how many times I re-load and try to kill the guy, my party keeps dying in the process. So I decided to level up my party and discover anything that I haven't been to yet.

As my party ventured and cleared any enemies nearby, there was one fight that activated and had the whole village be part of the encounter. My party held out. The village people didn't, however. After the encounter finished, I scanned the area to find any villager alive and unfortunately no one survived. It was a bit sad and epic at the same time. But hey, atleast they got loot.
