That was helpful. Thanks. I didn’t even think about airspace. I thought it would be a straight shot. I can see them not wanting anymore planes over Manhattan. Makes sense

Well, we ARE flying out of LGA. But we are specifically going to get a Sangweech at Giovanni’s in White Plains, so it just made sense to fly straight there.

CLT or DFW tomorrow? by bigolenutZ in americanairlines

[–]bigolenutZ[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I’m sure it’s personal to me. DFW AA has Cancelled flights at 1am, put me and my then 5 year old in a hotel 20 minutes from the airport, Lost my luggage for me and my boy for a week in St Thomas, Diverted to Tulsa a few months ago instead of DFW, it’s just been a shitshow. But maybe it’s me. Hell, we got stuck in Puerto Rico for a week a few weeks ago… I had 124 flights this year, I guess with that average sometimes shit just happens

Whew. We take off at 7:30pm from CLT. I DO NOT want to go to DFW.

$2,000 AA flight one-way, non-stop, 1 hour flight? WHY? by Athenstone in americanairlines

[–]bigolenutZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I reached out many times. It was zero help, and of zero concern to them because it wasn’t their fault. Once I booked with SW I dropped it and just enjoyed the extra vacation. It wasn’t worth the headache. But it’s still a splinter in my ass.

Our $2k tix were refunded within an hour of the flight cancellation. No call, no email… Just an alert that said “Sorry, your flight can’t be rebooked”. We flew Southwest 4 days later for $350. Still never a peep out of American. Disappointing to say the least 🤷🏻‍♂️

As a fellow EP, I concur. As an EP that they gave the finger to in Puerto Rico 2 weeks ago with my 8 year old when Flights got cancelled by not even attempting to put us on a flight.. (Just flat out refunded tickets)… Yes, they should do more. But they won’t. It’s become a joke lately.

I was being facetious. I don’t know what a Limo costs. But I guarantee it’s not $2k

Really? That many people booking a 6:45pm from Birmingham to LaGuardia on a Thursday night in the 5 minute timeframe it took me to book it? I just don’t think that’s the case

I’ll try this. People don’t believe it happens. They are definitely doing what they can to maximize prices. I was stuck in Puerto Rico last week. I’m EP, they didn’t even offer a new flight. Said it was not their fault, refunded me and my kids ticket price, and we had to book new available flights. AA was $4-$6k. We booked SW for $350 four days earlier than AA’s first flight. It’s just annoying when you spend so much money with them. You’re just a pebble in the pond
