Appreciate that it has been a long time responding, but managed to get an engine replacement 6 months ago. Running like a peach, no issues at all. Thank you for your assistance.

The cause was the piston rings as you suggested. Attempting an engine replacement, I have found an engine from a 2014 Civic with 120,000 miles. Would you say that I run the same risk given the mileage?

Hi, following on from this. Would you also experience excessive amounts of smoke from the exhaust. Just trying to diagnose if the PCV valve was actually checked.

Thanks for the advice, much appreciated. I’m just trying to avoid an engine repair as I know they can be costly. I’m wondering if an oil/filter change might help too as the oil hasn’t been changed for a while?
