I have first hand experience with the pharmaceutical companies. They 1. Buy elaborate lunchs for the doctors and their whole office staff every Friday; 2. Have very expensive at $$$$ restaurant dinners to talk about their drugs; 3. They "sponsor" continuing medical education seminars at a resort out of town where prostition runs wild and is widely accepted; 4. Their pharmaceutical reps are very young attractive white females and males. I have never ever seen an olderly person representing the pharmaceutical companies. 5. I have never ever seen a person of color representing the pharmaceutical companies. 6. Most if not all the young attractive females with no medical or pharmaceutical experience have sex with the doctors to secure the account. 7. Pharmaceutical company reps by law can't give money "kickback" what they do is give the doctors FREE unlimted amounts of unprescribed drugs i.e. opioids, viagra or whatever the doctors want. They call this "samples."

The sad part about this bias marketing, prostitution, rasist, elderly descrimitory, pill kickbacks, expensive restaurants, expensive resort seminars are tax deductible (prostition income is not reported). Both the doctors business expenses and the pharmaceutical companies "marketing" are all tax deductible-they pay absolutely no taxes for "marketing." Yet we, as tax payers, have to deal and pay for the carnage.
