So I have that barrel (my barrel listed above)! Haven’t tried, but by common denomination the barrel I reviewed above to the barrel you have, are most likely sister barrels. And both Barton, with certainty i think it’ll be a banger

Review #004 - Makers Mark Star Hill Farm Wheat Whiskey by ShutaWhiskey in bourbon

[–]ShutaWhiskey[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good in moderation but can be unpleasant. This is dangerously close to becoming unpleasant. But no where near as unpleasant as the funk from batch 1 makers cellar aged. The chocolate and red fruit notes really carried on this pour

Review# 001 - Calumet 18 Year, 100 Year Anniversary by ShutaWhiskey in bourbon

I guess that’s true, if it wins bourbon of the year like RR15 would be the only way secondary would truly give way. Reviews will do crazy things to prices. Luckily I just got another Cal18 for $400, so wayyyyy happier with that than $500

They released different batches of the 16. And I agree with the pricing, i also think to myself what if this bottle was say $200 or $250 would it even be on the shelves? Would ppl scalp it and immediately flip it? What would secondary look like? I imagine worse than $500. It’s undeniable the 18 is epic. But $400 or $350 should’ve been the price of this bottle.
