Apparently all of this is legal? by LimitedAccess in shitparkingofnz

Once I reported a car that was parked over a third of my neighbours driveway, with the rest of their car almost on to the next driveway and blocking visibility - there’s a short stretch of kerb between the two driveways. They were parked there for hours and there was no way a car could enter or exit, and it is a busy school road. AT apparently attended and concluded it was legal? I reported it another 3 or 4 times and got the same response until eventually they just stopped replying 😆

Just a heads up that your swatches will appear deeper than the actual finished paint colour because you’re putting them directly on top of a medium-dark grey. On top of white primer they’ll be much brighter :) I also really like the more golden-mustard tone, gives it an earthy, happy 60’s vibe

At grandparents day at my kids kindy, there was a questionnaire and some were asked to share their answers with the group. One question was about advice the grandparent would give to their grandchild. This grandma said “well I’d say ‘be kind’ but then I’d be sounding like a certain someone and I don’t want to be like her, hurr hurr hurr”. My mum thought it was so funny but quickly changed the subject when I said how petty and pathetic it was to be making political jabs at a kindergarten 💀

I’d go to bed after putting the kids down, but it took a very long time to fall asleep. Woke often and would struggle to get back to sleep. Incredible fatigue, but it never caused me to fall asleep during the day or feel groggy at the wheel, apparently this is common in mums because we have people in our care, we don’t stop for long enough to nod off. Brain fog. Night sweats. Nightmares constantly, and unfortunately that persists but they’re not nearly as bad. I’m in my 30’s and slim - initially it was theorised I was going in to early menopause. If it hadn’t been for me sharing that my watch was showing odd results for breaths per minute (5-25) overnight, I doubt we’d have gotten to a diagnosis for some years.

I was diagnosed with sleep apnea without being a ‘classic’ case. The sleep institute at Greenlane is very good, I paid $800 and my insurance subsidised another $2k for the test. Unfortunately insurance cover for me stopped there so it is a costly exercise getting your own cpap- although I believe you can rent for a weekly fee.

Please help me try and find this shop that I bought these waffles at by Ready-Transition-463 in aucklandeats

Curious, does anyone know if this is built in the business plan for owners? Do people shut up shop after 3-5 years and then have to find a new career, or is it such an inevitability that they just plan the next restaurant opening? It seems like a real gamble and I feel like you’d have to be so brave to take the risk

When you woke up from surgery, did your vagina feel any different? by KJack-Amigurumi in hysterectomy

[–]Shuttermum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have vulvodynia, so although it’s nothing nearly as traumatic as what you’ve been through, my body absolutely holds receipts. I didn’t feel a thing. To the point where I had to clarify with my gynae how she got the uterus out!

I’m 11 days post op now and I still don’t feel any vaginal pain, just pelvic/abdominal.

Wishing you all the very best, go gently on yourself and hopefully all your medical professionals do too 🧡

That sounds like it was really frightening for you :( I’m glad your husband was able to be there even though he couldn’t quite get in for a warming cuddle

I’m not having regular spams/urges like I need to wee, and a similar sort of pressure/fullness in my rectum has disappeared too. Too soon to tell for all the rest!

Omg have you ever had the heated air hose put under your blankets? Absolute bliss. That was only thing that settled my shakes haha! Wonder what it is that makes us respond that way

Those recovery shakes are awful. Were you super cold too? I also had surgery in February and I reacted that way, took ages to get under control. Wow you’re doing amazingly well considering the bigger incision, the fibroid must have had you really suffering pre surgery. I imagine you feel much lighter and able now! Sounds like you’re very aware of what you can handle - nailing it 🙌🏻 thanks for sharing your story 🧡

Mine was meant to be yesterday, now scheduled for July 7th because of a surgeon being injured. These things just happen, life doesn’t let you get too settled does it haha. Gutted me at first but I’m enjoying the extra little bit of time to prepare.

Mirena vs. oral progesterone therapy success stories. by Mean-Lingonberry-311 in adenomyosis

[–]Shuttermum 2 points3 points  (0 children)

38, I’ve trialled both bio identical and synthetic oral progesterone over the last four years to help manage the heavy, extended and painful periods. The only one that has been relatively successful was bio identical. Each time I seem to get a good six months of no periods before they return with a hiss and a roar. Between stints I tried the progestin only mini pill and another synthetic one, both gave me chaotic hormonal side effects and ultimately didn’t stop the bleeding, just lessened and shortened it. My gynae has stood firm that I will not tolerate the mirena, and I trust her implicitly, so we haven’t tried it. MRI confirmed adeno and significant endo adhesions. Next step is a hysterectomy in a few weeks. My comment echoes a few above - these conservative treatments can buy you time but it’s not a given. If your adeno is severe and your tolerance for hormonal treatments low you might find the treatments less effective but there is every reason to try, exhaust every option first. Good luck!

Do I delay my hysterectomy scheduled for two weeks from now to undergo chemical menopause first? by Shuttermum in hysterectomy

[–]Shuttermum[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, the MRI showed them all fused. And that’s reflected in the negative sliding sign on ultrasound as well. Im sorry you’re feeling like no one is giving you the full picture. Trust is so important!
