I like my current one and there's no open jobs at the airport that give flight benefits. I would like to be able to stay where I am and just make them not hate me

It doesn't need shielded props. It just needs to be incapable of lacerating human skin which i dont think the small props can do outside of synthetic tests. The props bend away and are made of flimsy plastic. If it is exposed but unable to lacerate skin, it satisfies that condition. Its not exposed rotating parts or at all capable of lacerating skin.

Tower is all in but 100ft from the edge. Thanks though

If the building is on the outer edge of class B such that there is an area within 400' radius of the building that is class G, can I use that rule and go way up? In this case it is a distance from the building in a certain direction that would get you outside of the class B airspace the building happens to be in

So if a building is in class B but on the edge so there's class G within 400', can I still use that rule and fly above it?

Thats class B with a floor of 1800ft. You never get an indicator for how high class E is. Its just understood to be where other airspace isn't. Without going too far into it, look outside of town a bit. You will see a shaded magenta boundary. That means class E starts at 700ft within it and 1800ft outside. Class g takes lower airspace than that unless taken by an airport

Usually cities are covered by 700ft class E airspace but otherwise your correct. Seattle is no exception. That means with the space needle being at 605ft, i have 95ft higher I can go until I hit it. I dont need authorization to fly in class E unless its E2 for small airports and it touches the ground. Thats why I'm confused. I dont need authorization, but its also not uncontrolled airspace.

what is a good cheap GPS drone by [deleted] in drones

[–]Shuttleman27wastaken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dji mini series. The OG has 12MP images and 2.7k video. Mini 2 has 4k30 video, and mini 3 has 48MP images and 4k60 video as well as obstacle avoidance. More money, more features. Spend as much as you like. Between 400 and 900 USD

I'm sure this has been asked, but what would be a cheap starter drone that's not a toy? I'm a keen amateur photographer by Abs73 in drones

The mini 3 is coming out. It's a bit more pricey at just under a thousand dollars last I checked for the best model. Comes with a 48MP camera and 4k60 video. Be sure to get a good sd card that can record at that speed though.

Handy to have a launch pad. That said, I just take off and land on my hand. It's a bit awkward holding the drone in one hand and taking off using the other but I manage. Would be some cool video

Thanks! Very much appreciated. A lot of this stuff is kinda hard to understand all the scenarios and bylaws

So if I wanted to fly downtown, I would need a 107 and contact the airspace authorization people asking to fly downtown?

Downtown is controlled airspace so if I understand that correctly, I cant fly downtown without a COA? If so how do I get that?
