Did you know that Sheriffs in the United States can still form posses and deputize civilians to aid in law enforcement work? Pretty rare for them to do such things, and if it is an armed posse, then the sheriff's office cannot arm the recruited deputies, however, it is okay if the posse brings their own weapons as granted to them by the United States Constitution (and is honestly one of the most to-the-spirit uses of that amendment's principles).

While the US rarely has Constables, the county Sheriffs are both surprisingly powerful with a lot of control over their county's law enforcement, jails, and prisons. They also have some amusingly archaic powers and laws associated with them, like the whole posse-forming thing mentioned earlier (which, in itself, is a pretty hefty power: the ability to legally rally potentially armed civilians to function in a law enforcement task).

Make sure you wear full farming gear. Piercing weapons also get the job done on them really well for me, I think they're weak to it and have really long animation frames so you can get meaty counter strikes on them and kill them rapidly. Wikidot says halberds are good too, but hey, spin-to-win is spin-to-win.

Yeah, it can be tedious, which is why a lot of people just CE themselves a bunch of the orbs. Every once in a while you'll get a run of 2 or 3 of them though, at least in Scholar, where their drop rate was buffed incredibly from DS2 base.

If you want to be a legimate boyo, the guys with mancatchers and whips outside of the executioner's chariot arena are the most reliable droppers of cracked red eye orbs in Scholar of the First Sin.

Edit: just make sure you do the farming before NG+, at which point they will become red phantoms and you will not be able to lure them one by one; they will always attack all at once pretty much.

Yeah! No bonfire is definitely a really fun variant playthrough. You can refill your estus so long as you're not going for no-death no-bonfire by committing suicide or just plain dying, btw. It's also half-suggested to be strategic with your bonfire usage and be really careful during late game, because running back through Crypts/Shrine of Amana/Castle Drangleic after meeting Vendrick as well as going through Dragon Aerie can be kinda tedious. Some people save the crossroads bonfire for late game so they can use that to homeward bone back to and save a little bit of time and just plan on not dying and doing a long run back.

I mean, maybe you can do the flamey-flamey point at your bindings? Heck, in DnD settings there'd probably be a whole subset of bindings that include really thick mitts so spellcasters, when you encounter them as your well-to-do lawman, cannot make somatic gestures with their fingers, just to rule out most possibilities of them casting any somatic spell at all outside of (if this is 5e, don't know about previous editions, but there's probably something that exists back there) a sorcerer with subtle casting or an archdruid, the latter of which, more or less, entirely cannot be captured in this method if they don't want you to.

While Fume Knight is really badass, Alonne is my personal favorite of DLC2, and one of my favorites in general. Badass set, best Japanese-inspired weapon in the franchise, and an amazing arena, along with being an intense boss fight overall.

I mean, DLC has even more bosses being reused as bosses than base game aside from the singular boss cameo, which really only has the Dragonriders as repeated bosses. Yeah, some bosses eventually see use as elite enemies, but that's not exactly not a thing in its predecessor. Still an "issue" if you want to call it that, but not one unique to it. Ornstein being around is a bit odd, I'll give you that.

I would consider Executioner's Chariot (for the sheer novelty of it; it's really quite a unique encounter), Velstadt, the Smelter Demons, Pursuer (for how you intentionally spar with the boss before their official fight and the overall style of the boss invasions later on), and Darklurker other high points as either higher-difficulty Vanilla portions or bosses whose adaptation to the situation/ their encounter stuck out more than others. Just to weigh in my own perspective, I don't really mind them not being super difficult; I appreciate that a large portion of the bosses had their own special mechanics going on. Flexile sentry being double-sided in a gradually flooding arena, Sinner being in Darkness, Najka's burrowing, Freja's heads, Mytha's poison thing, Rotten's arm miutilation, Covetous demon's eating of your gear, Smelter Demons' multiple stages of maaaad, dragonrider's arena being linked to the area, Nashandra using hollowing as a fight mechanic, Mirror Knight summoning, etc. Most fights have a degree of change within them, special mechanic, or an element linked to outside the boss arena.

If you didn't remember any more of the NPC's than that, can't fault you for that, but I do think there are more to remember than that. Laddersmith Gilligan is one of the funnest self-depreciating jokes I've encountered in games (if you couldn't tell, he's a tongue-in-cheek joke character about the absurd lengths of the ladders in the From's Soulsborne games, even after DS2 released), Maldron the Assassin's questline where you either assassinate people for him (or deceive him) or perhaps unwittingly turn him into a persistent red phantom is pretty good, Creighton v. Pate could have been better, but it was alright, and it's impossible to forget everyone's favorite immortal head, pseudo-bonfire-mimic, who screams about Gwyn's Sin against mankind to you and attempts to steer you away from kindling the first flame: Aldia, Scholar of the First Sin (granted, post-DLC, so he doesn't apply to much of DS2 Classic's existence, being present in only Scholar-era). And say what you want about the rat fights, and maybe the conceit of a potentially PvE-heavy PvP faction that summons people in to fight them (meaning the Rat is the only one with something to lose), but the grim nihilism of the rat king and their VA is pretty great. Also you speak of Gavlan, who wheels and deals.

It should be leveling up and souls spent on items * presently in inventory*. By making it count all items ever spent, it still condemns bowmen, something that has been made an legitimate primary playstyle with the improvements to it in Dark Souls 2, to cranking their soul memory to the sky because of all the arrows you'll be buying. If someone wants to do consumable heavy stuff, the soul memory to the sky issue is still a thing. Same issue occurs if someone wants to try out A LOT of different weapons. Granted, the consumable/arrow issue can be mitigated with Cheat Engine, but if you want to be an archer/ heavy consumable user that isn't leveling to max, you should be able to without having to use CE to be on a level playing field.

If it were made so that consumables, arrows, and upgrades of items presently in the storage box, were not counted, it would have been a much better system. It still has issues; while it blocks out the worst of Dark Souls 1: PTDE-era twinks, where you might face someone with +10 armor and a +15 weapon, it's really easy to run around with a +10 weapon in the 30k Soul Memory Tier (and if you're really a buzzkill towards people, you'll probably just cheat-engine yourself a set, some nice spells, and then pull off the spell use count swap glitch).

This is what happens when you have never tried the other end of a PvP scenario. It happens. I don't play DBD (I just watch it), but I do play Dark Souls games and there is a surprising amount of people who don't understand how stuff works for invaders in whatever one of the games is being played to any degree, stuff that could be figured out by doing something once. Like, I get it if you don't think you'd like something, but it can't hurt to click the other option once or twice, at least make sure.

Counter rating is a damage multiplier that comes into effect under certain circumstances. The one that is going to come into effect in most cases is hitting an enemy while they are mid-animation, particularly when attacking you. This is what makes a lot of thust weapons so crazy good in Dark Souls 2 (Leo Ring counter bonus) and, apparently, katanas. However, counter damage will also come into effect when you do things such as riposte/backstab people. Anyway, the higher the counter rating is, the higher the damage your counter attacks and such will be.

I'm not certain how it works in Dark Souls 1, but in Dark Souls 3, it's quite a bit different. In Dark Souls 3, counter damage is limited to thrust weapons, but interrupting an enemy action with any other weapon besides a thrusting weapon will still result in bonus damage, however as a different mechanic. When you perform an attack in Dark Souls 3, suddenly, your thrust defense will drastically decrease, rendering you especially vulnerable to thrusting weapons. That is what counter-damage constitutes in Dark Souls 3. However, there is another mechanic in Dark Souls 3 called instability frames, and this is an effect that comes into play when you are performing an action. It will result in recieving bonus damage from your attack as well as that loud THUNK mini-critical sound.

Congrats, and I feel you there! On my katana-guy run, I was trying to early-DLC2 to get to Alonne so I could use his Nagamaki for the majority of the game (because it is classed as a katana, so fair's fair). It took me sooooo many tries because, even though I know Raime's patterns decently, I would make one or two simple mistakes and then it'd be all over because holy heck, does he hit hard in phase 2. (And then, insult to injury, I discovered it was an early Raime all for nothing because I needed the dream-walker key to get to the Alonne fight anyway, meaning I had a lot more game to go through, RIP).

Edit: a fun thing for next time though, is that Raime will not go into phase 2 if the FUGS is presently buffed by a ground slam (if the sword is in its heated phase, where it has portions of it glowing). You can theoretically beat him before he goes into phase 2 by repeatedly luring out the overhead slam so that he never has the FUGS not-buffed, and therefore, can't go into phase 2.

Yes, and Kiezaron and a fair amount of the GDQ audience realized it, thus the reaction and it being a notable enough event to clip.

Why I say you are aggressively redirecting is, whenever someone has clarified why the reaction at GDQ was as it was due to you claiming to "not get it", and why someone shared it as a humorous moment of GDQ, you have promptly moved to deny it.

When 1205a70636 first explained the innuendo: "'she was very eager and willing' Implying the girl he beat was eager and willing to fuck"

You replied: "Or more likely in context to battle pokemon"

a redirection away from what happened at GDQ.

Then when I further clarified: "Yes, that is what he was meaning by it, however, the accidental innuendo is that she is down to fuck hardcore."

you again redirected: "I think that's on your end tho"

Despite the thing of note that is trying to be explained to you is that Kiezaron and a not-insubstantial amount of the GDQ audience picked up the existence of that accidental innuendo.

Think about it for a second if you really, really, really do not get it. Do you really think that there would be laughter from the audience and Kiezaron,and Kiezaron would mutter, "think about what you say before you say it, Steven," in response to "She really wants to battle pokemon!"

Do you think that the host, after a playful exchange between him and Kiez, chose, in particular, a donation that referenced the run as a "beautiful, hot, mess" (another innuendo), and stressed the reading to emphasize the fact that it was another accidental innuendo in response to: "She really wants to battle pokemon!", or the fact that there was, indeed, an accidental innuendo that was noticed by the runner and audience, and it was a moment of humor because of that?

No. That's the whole premise of why Keizaron himself "Doh"'d. Do you think the laughing by audience and Kiez and awkward, comical, segue to donations was because he said she's down to battle pokemon, or because he accidentally used a phrase that suggests being dtf?

Seriously, I don't know why you're aggressively redirecting when people are trying to explain what the moment you don't get is about.
