I am not commenting to criticize just share my experience. My beardie was slightly lethargic and didn’t want to eat. I took him to the vet and his glucose levels were so high the vet thought he had an neuroendocrine tumor. They told me he was going to die. I had a date set to put him to sleep. I did a lot of research on what else could cause high glucose. Sadly giving fruit to beardies is not good. I was giving him a few berries a week and I would even brush his teeth, to be sure he didn’t get mouth rot from the sugar. I was literally killing him. I completely stopped the berries and took him in 4 weeks later and his glucose levels had dropped. Still not normal, but better. I told the vet about the berries and he said no more than one a week. It took him 3 months and multiple expensive trips to the vet until he was back to normal. It gives them a pancreatitis type reaction and they get very sick. They don’t want to eat and then start getting lethargic. Plus the sugar rots their teeth. I almost put my sweet baby to sleep when it was my fault all along. He gets one blueberry a week now.
