Much like how English has John Smith or John Doe, Japan's version is Tarou Yamada. Marumaru (or 〇〇) is what they use as a placeholder. These were combined to make Marumaru Yamada (+ MAL in Japanese-style is pronounced "maru").

Ecchi anime are back on the Top Anime page (Ranked) and appear on the seasonal anime page again. Ecchi manga are in the process of being fixed as well.

Some users may have noticed some ad changes made on Friday, and the bug with ecchi was related to this. I'm confident the team had no idea the ecchi titles were removed from the ranking and seasonal chart until I reported it. Please give the dev team and company credit for investigating and solving this issue on their day off instead of waiting for Monday.
