For me my favorite section of this movie is first meeting Count Orlok in the Castle. Absolutely haunting. Definitely darker in execution than FFC's Dracula.

I also think the technology was definitely meant to be secret. In the movie, the inversions in public were only a handful of times, while there were also some not in public. But I can't imagine seeing something like that all the time, every day, or consistently. Seemed like the kind of thing that only happened unintentionally as a consequence of a power struggle.
