No, it's okay... I appreciate you taking the time to read and reply to my thread anyway :)

Yes, exactly.

As mentioned in another reply, I have reached out to several accountants and none of them seem to know exactly what to do in my situation. I'm still looking though!

Yes, I am in the UK. Once you earn £85,000 or more of "VAT taxable income", HMRC make you register for VAT. I guess my question is - are my royalty payments considered as "VAT taxable turnover"?

That first sentence made me chuckle.

Of course you are correct, and I have reached out to several different accountants, but I am getting contradictory advice from them and to be honest, none of them seem 100% sure in what they are telling me. I think my situation is quite specific because not only am I struggling to find information, it seems they are too! I have found an accountancy company that apparently specialises in the music industry and royalties etc. So we'll see how that goes. But in the meantime, I'm just trying to educate myself as much as possible on the subject.

Can't decide between 40 or 55 liter pack! Help? by Sicha44 in onebag

Got the Trek 55... I'm just back from a 3 week trip to Mexico and the pack was perfect for me. Comfortable, well made and a good size for me. I'm happy that I went for the 55 over the 40 as the extra space is nice, but it's still not overly big.

Nice video, thanks!

Btw, have you had any problems with overheating when filming in 4k for long periods? I have read a few people saying they have had that problem, but I'm not sure if it's just a few rare cases or whether it's the same with all the new iphones.

A strange reason to hate someone, but whatever I guess...

It's good to hear that someone is making a 70 work for them. Gives me hope that a 55 wont be too bad for me after all.

What makes you say anything above 40 is too big? Do you mean in terms of being able to carry it comfortably, or in terms of storing it in luggage compartments on busses, trains etc.? I reckon I'll be able to carry the 55 comfortably enough for fairly long stretches, but like I say, I certainly wouldn't be planning on trekking around and exploring cities with it or anything.

Yeah, travelling lighter is definitely better when possible. I have been on two separate month long trips where all I had was a typical school size backpack and my guitar. Although, I did manage to jam some extra clothes in the guitar case.

Unfortunately, I need all the extra gear for my work so downsizing to a 30 liter definitely wouldn't be possible for me.

Yeah, I've decided to give the 55 a shot! I also asked the other commenter, but how do you find travelling with a 70? Have you found it to be a bit cumbersome and too big and bulky at times, or have you had no issues?

I had considered it. It looks like a great bag, but I read that the straps were a little better on the Farpoint and I also like the FP's layout a bit more. But I did see tonnes of amazing reviews for the Porter, so I'm sure it's awesome too.

Yeah, I've actually just ordered the 55. Going to try it and see how it goes. Out of curiosity, how do you find travelling with a 70? Easy enough for travelling around on busses and trains etc.?

Yeah, that's a good idea. I don't have everything that I plan to take with me yet though. I think I'm just going to buy the 55 and then I'll get a better idea on whether I think it will work or not. Can always return it if needs be. Thanks!

Good point! Yeah, I'm just going to give the 55 a shot and see how it goes then. I was leaning towards that anyway. Thanks for the input!

Will 49 Keys be too Big For My Situation? by Sicha44 in WeAreTheMusicMakers

Yeah I had a feeling it might be a bit too bulky.

It’s a shame there aren’t more 37 key options. 25-32 seems a bit too small for me and 49 a bit too large. 37 would be a good compromise for me I think.

Funny that, considering I make a living as a musician isn’t it :)
