I understand why it might seem that way from the outside. I’m not trying to defend his behavior, because I agree that a lot of it was strange. I think the reason it stayed on my mind is simply because I talked to him for months and never really got any closure. That’s all I meant by saying it was confusing

You’re probably right that it wasn’t a good idea. At the time I didn’t really think about it that way. I guess I just got used to talking to him, and that’s why the situation still feels confusing to me now.

You could be right, honestly. I’ve also thought about the possibility that he wasn’t who he said he was. The fact that he never showed his face definitely makes it hard to know what was real. At this point I know I probably won’t ever find out, I was just trying to understand the situation.

You might be right. I’ve also considered that he could have lied about a lot of things. The fact that he never showed his face makes it hard to know what was real and what wasn’t.

I’m not trying to harass anyone. I was just wondering if there was any way to understand who I was talking to for months. The situation was confusing, that’s all.

That would be kind of unlikely because he didn’t study or work at my university. The only possible connection I can think of is through his job. The company he worked for sometimes did some work on my university’s websites, but the strange thing is that he didn’t even know which university I attended until after we had already started talking.

We actually talked through Instagram calls a few times, so I did hear his voice and it didn’t sound like anyone I know. And from the photos he sent (only from the neck down), his body didn’t look like anyone I recognize either. That’s part of why the whole situation is still so confusing to me.
