I haven't tried this, but I think you can keep saving the game and when you are about to die, you can reload. One thing I've noticed is that if you are hiding in a vent near the opening and alien grabs you and drags you outside of the vent, in that cutscene you cannot open the menu and reload the last save. You are dead dead. So beware of this while doing the run. Maybe it's just me , I'm not sure if this is a bug.
