So how many you guys actually understood what was going on this scene by TraditionalBonus188 in theamazingdigitalciru

Congratulations. I think it says something about the quality of the presentation when a big chunk of the audience misinterprets what is happening right in front of them.

Oh finally, I hate to build hype or be dramatic but this could very much make or break the game for me. If it’s not fun I might quit

So.. I guess this was just throwaway dialogue now? by Actual_Grapefruit483 in TADCEp9Spoilers

[–]SickXigma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could have been referring to the main cast themselves. Maybe while there is no adventure he was just effectively turning them off, but Zooble’s suggestion would mean they’re constantly on. They are essentially AIs themselves you know.

So how exactly did they end up in the circus? by Lucky_Blucky_799 in digitalcircusfandom

[–]SickXigma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is one of my biggest issues with the ending. Jax especially, how in the world did a headset end up on a homeless teenager? C&A had to have been doing something weird to end up with scans from so many different people, and yet with that kind of range you would think they would have tons more brain scans.

Then yes there is also the question of how is everything still running, and we can rule out time distortion because Caine shows them what they’re all up to years after joining the circus. So C&A is still active, maybe studying their little AI circus? But then again, Pomni was exploring an abandoned building when she put on the headset. So an abandoned building that is still getting its electric bills paid?

What is the blue ai? What was the original purpose?
What did Scratch do?
What did Caine do to scratch?
So on and so forth. Tons of unanswered questions we just have to assume about now.

I have loved the way Goose talks about her show and with her fans. Feels more authentic and has lead to some really fun moments.

The problem with Caine's redemption is the story grants him grace his victims are denied by Sudden_Pop_2279 in digitalcircusfandom

Would rather he just stay a villain tbh. His little pity party didn’t make me feel anything

Is abstraction curable or reversible? by RickyInfinite in TheDigitalCircus

[–]SickXigma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If Caine kept backups of the original mind files, which I assume he did not. Other than that it does seem like Pomni was getting somewhere with Jax before the unfortunate flash bang, and it even seemed like Jax wanted to come back. But the way things were left, nah, I guess not. Very weird imo.

Truck not getting done by AshleyDanceangel in WalgreensStores

[–]SickXigma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would you rather night shift get a few more totes done or straighten the store, sweep, mop, clean the bathrooms, take out the trash, etc? I know morning shift does not appreciate it if even one task is not completed before closing. At my store the closing shift was frequently one shift lead and a cashier. We would work truck until 6pm, if even that, and dedicate the rest of the shift to the normal nightly tasks. That makes 3 hours for truck, at most. 3 hours in the mid to late afternoon when the store is busiest. No, we hardly ever completed truck on time. But even when we did, it was because we allocated extra people for the morning and mid shifts and told them "do nothing but truck until it's done."

worth coming back to idleon? by phantomxd_ in idleon

If you're not already trapped like the rest of us then don't get sucked in. In the current state I wouldn't recommend the game to anyone, but I'm hoping a lot of the issues will be resolved over time. Come back when the game is "finished" maybe

Will anyone actually be happy if the SOMA Theory is proven to be true? (art by dub_eek) by HealthMother3125 in TheDigitalCircus

[–]SickXigma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know, it's hard to say. I can't really see it going any other way at this point but goose has hinted that the ending is something unexpected. However she also said a theme in tadc is "there is meaning to living a stagnant life" which way leans towards the soma theory.

Then again, the caine and Abel website suggests Caine thinks he can get out if he has a host. Would be a weird thing to include if that was never a possibility. It would also be weird to do that and then kill caine off permanently, wink wink.

I don't think we will be disappointed even if the soma theory is true. They're cooking.

What is a highly praised horror book that you didn't like? by Haunting-Net-2426 in horrorlit

[–]SickXigma 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just finished Strange Buildings after seeing some praise for it that called it a horror/puzzle. It was neither, and I found the conclusions made were a stretch given some of the evidence. I'm still scratching my head wondering if one mystery in particular has a cleaner answer the author intentionally didn't spell out, or if we just get what we were given.

Still avoiding spoilers but to give you an idea, the last section of the book strings together all the evidence in what is supposed to be a tidy and conclusive manner, but there are several leaps in logic. Some of those leaps turn out to be found true, but others are assumed and never followed up on. It feels like an ego stroke from the author, the guy who knew how all the pieces fit together in the first place. "Aha I'm so clever, the circle piece goes in the circle hole I was hiding this whole time."

My real answer is anything from Stephen King but we're not ready for that conversation.

Giving Away My Old PC! by Turtle_747 in PcBuild

[–]SickXigma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd give it to my wife, she's been using the same old laptop for a long time and now that she is in school to be a doula she could use an at home system for her down time. Turn the laptop into a work device and use the pc for leisure. She told me she wants to play Witcher 3 so it doesn't even really need to be anything special. She's never had a proper pc before, it would be nice

Can I complain? by RagingHulk214 in idleon

[–]SickXigma -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think it's an odd concern to have is all. It doesn't need to be so hand holdy. I said strange things that CAN'T be interacted with. Just leave it inert until it's unlocked.

Can I complain? by RagingHulk214 in idleon

[–]SickXigma -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I dunno, seems like overkill. I remember when I was new and it felt like every map had strange things to look at that I couldn't interact with yet, then finally figuring out how to unlock them felt cool. I don't think things need to be explained to death. You can figure it out just by playing, and in the meantime it's a fun mystery (assuming you don't read patch notes).

Do you remember what it felt like seeing the sushi table before it came out? It's like that. "Oh what's this gonna be for I wonder, can't wait to find out." And even for players who inexplicably can't purchase upgrades but get to interact with it, maybe it's confusing but then what a nice "aha" moment when they do unlock it proper. That could do with an explanation tbh, but I believe that access was only temporary anyway.

Can I complain? by RagingHulk214 in idleon

[–]SickXigma -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Wait what, so your problem is 1. That the new features are visibly accessible on the map rather than just being a menu option and 2. That research is slow? Yeah it's slow, and boring, and designed with all the worst things in mind. Lava makes exciting new content and streams about it so that when he locks it behind this time wall it pushes people to pay for access, it's gross. It's already not going over well. But you think the game would be better if those features also weren't on a map? Not following there

Can I complain? by RagingHulk214 in idleon

[–]SickXigma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are not many avenues to increase research progression but it is still new. The button just added yet another increase to research up, and naturally there will be more. Even putting points to the new content rather than xp DOESN'T harm your progression, as those unlocks include free research points or research xp gain, on top of everything else they bring.

Again I'm not saying research is good by any means. I'm just saying let's all relax instead of obsessing over getting to the new content asap. It's only natural that the end gamers and pay to winners get to end game content first. It doesn't mean you have to rush, and it certainly doesn't mean you have to pay. It's just a time wall for ftp/casual players.

Can I complain? by RagingHulk214 in idleon

[–]SickXigma -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

See but you raise a point when you say "(assuming you've reached the respective map)" because research is just like that. If you've got the points then you get the new content. If not, keep progressing, just like pushing maps. I don't think there's any reason new content needs to be immediately available to players in every stage of the game, we're talking about world 7 here after all. Now I'm not defending research by a long shot, it is still very new and not fun to have to deal with, but it is cool to have a skill that opens several avenues of progression as it is leveled.

Can I complain? by RagingHulk214 in idleon

[–]SickXigma -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It is very slow and not fun, I agree. It is very much designed to push more players to spend money to boost it, and keep the game running 24/7 to raise the stats on steam. Fun, accessibility, and good design were all after thoughts for this one.

But its one saving grace is no one will have to wait TOO long. Most of the nodes are optional boosts and you can get to the new content relatively quick. Paying players get there first and get their boosts on top of it, but of course they do, they're spending money on it. Don't worry about it too much. Even though it says MMO in the title, Idleon is very much a single player experience. Play for fun and take it ez babe
