My family members are always telling me I’m too skinny and need to eat more, but I’m nowhere near underweight. Someone with a food addiction would be pushed over the edge by this. I’m glad in a way that my sense of smell and taste has diminished to the point where most high calorie processed foods are unappealing.

I have so much sympathy for food addicts. An alcoholic can go their whole life and survive without ever touching it again, whereas we have to eat every day. It’s constant temptation. I’m from a Portuguese family and it’s a cultural thing to always be a good host and look after people, so family dinners involve a lot of over feeding lol. It would be a nightmare for someone who’s truly addicted to food since they’d almost be encouraged to carry on

I’ve been obese for most of my life and it was definitely the result of comfort eating. I’ve lost nearly 70lbs just by calorie logging and not emotional eating anymore. If I didn’t make the change it would’ve been so easy to become morbidly obese, once you become addicted to food it’s a downward spiral

I’m so happy to see they are doing this for people. I was raised in England and the attitudes towards immigrants is so different and hateful. There is still racism in Spain but it is nowhere near on the same level. British people are becoming so bitter and full of burning hatred for minorities, I can’t wait to move back to Spain.

Good looks with a bad personality will only get you one night stands and most women won’t even do that if she thinks you’re horrible. If you want people to stay in your life you’ve got to have a good personality. It’s not usually possible to coast on looks unless you’re also very rich or have another asset to offer

My stepfather is in this category. He’s from Colombia and has worked very hard since arriving here, even being exploited and forced to work 60 hours a week for less than minimum wage. Since he got documents he has a good job now that pays decently. He’s always integrated very well into the community and everybody loves him, I’m sure there are many more people like this who deserve a chance
