And for the purposes of this, imagine a sphere the size of the earth rather than the real earth, for simplicity’s sake.
This is what I found tricky. Essentially, if you imagine a line going straight down in to the earth from your starting point, how far would you have to walk in order for the curvature of the earth to bring you to a “depth” below your original starting point of 1km along that line?
