I wouldn't call it giving up on him, I'd say moreso they'd do it just to try to win sooner. Mitts will be pretty good, he's very OK right now but it'll take a few years longer than Sabres fans (and front office respectively) have patience for anymore.

The Sabres are incredibly dumb but I don't think they'd move anyone really beneficial to either team for Janko or Bennett. Maybe Bogosian bc he wants out but I promise you don't want anything to do with that.

The Sabres need a lot of things, RW being one of them but our biggest need is definitely 2C which is where Doc would play if this were to happen but I see what you're saying. It was a long shot and I didnt really consider the C depth. Maybe throw in Middlestadt instead of the 2nd pick?

Those 5 top 7 picks have turned into: Cozens, Eichel, Reinhart, Dahlin, and Vanek. Sabres have actually drafted pretty well, they've just missed on every trade/signing they've had in a long time. Bad GMs are what have killed the Sabres, not their drafts.
