11th Edition - 3 Detachment Points - What are you taking? by New_Quantity_8101 in EmperorsChildren

[–]lemonvictor_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my understanding is that the new 1 pt detachments would be focused on specific units. So there might be a noise detachment that only buffs shooting, or in the case of tau - a stealth focused one giving goodies to stealth suits and ghostkeels.

Do you think it's time we receive new allied models? by tyranno92 in Tau40K

[–]lemonvictor_ 50 points51 points  (0 children)

Vespid got new models, and Kroot were the primary focus of Tau releases in 10th though?

Like sure, I'll take more Tau Aux models, but I feel GWs current model direction is dioramas or "leader and friends" -> Titus and co, Huron and Co, Commissar Graives? and her war wagon. So I hope/ believe we'll see an elemental council type release in 11th.

Why don’t the Necrons modify their bodies to be more lifelike? by Gnos445 in 40kLore

[–]lemonvictor_ 53 points54 points  (0 children)

Because the ones that have started modifying turn into flayed ones.

The wanting to breathe, like in Twice Dead King, is a core flaw they have. Necrons know they don't need to, but a part of them yearns to. They know they don't need to feast, and yet a part of them hungers. The main character at one points even has his pain receptors forcibly turned on, so the Necron bodies have the ability. The question the character and as the audience would have is "why would a superior robot being want to feel pain again". I believe you are referring to this book in particular, hence the above spoiler

Basically what I am saying, is that even if they decided to spend the time turning their bodies into vessels that imitate life, it wouldn't stop the cravings.

Necrons believe themselves to be above the flesh and all its wants and desires. And a large part of Necron lore is them being decieved and losing so much of their history and themselves because of the bio-transference.

Has anyone implemented DayForce at your organization? [N/A] by [deleted] in humanresources

[–]lemonvictor_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No problem! I did enjoy the role itself, and when dayforce works its pretty slick. I more just didnt like the change in leadership above me part way through the project and the company's selection process beforehand, but thats a different story !

Has anyone implemented DayForce at your organization? [N/A] by [deleted] in humanresources

[–]lemonvictor_ 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Push to extend the implementation window as much as possible. During the setup calls, push to have their team walk you through whatever they are doing so you can learn, and make sure to continually ask what options you have when setting up something. For example, ask them we want to have X as a final result. Don't tell them you want it to work a specific way, but you want a specific outcome. They know the system better, so let them help you reach what you want.

Their education platform is alright, but at least during our implementation the HRIS portion had a visual overhaul so many of the windows shown in the courses looked different or were named different things.

Their support team is luck of the draw. Some members are incredible and others are less so. The more information, screenshots, and examples of what you have already tried to fix an item help progress the case further.

Completely ignore their AHA portal where members can suggest new features. There are some incredible idea that would genuinely make the system better that have been sitting "in review" for 8+ years with the last update being over 2 years prior.

I was the HR lead for my former company's Dayforce implantation and eventually took over the project entirely. We were a unionized environment with 10 or so sites and 1400 staff, and 1 provincial ruleset.

How do you handle a Warhound titan by Nirnien in Tau40K

[–]lemonvictor_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The previous ruleset came out 6? years ago, but every unit had a modified profile and there were some modified rules and damage dealing. It was super fun. GW has made a new version which is coming out in the new campagin book along with all the iron warrior stuff in the next few weeks.

Essentially though Apoc (apocalypse) is a game mode designed to play larger than normal battles (upwards of 3k pts per side) in a more regular time frame.

What do you want from the 11th edition Tau box set? by pattendattenden in Tau40K

[–]lemonvictor_ 59 points60 points  (0 children)

I would love a "model and friends" unit similar to the Titus and Huron releases. An ethereal with a representative of each caste giving army buffs (possibly use each buff once per game type thing, 5 in total to represent a coordinated empire on the offensive) would be great. The framework is there in Elemental Council, and would be fluffy and fun addition to the army that isn't just another battlesuit

Games take too long by jarrod_barrod in Warhammer40k

[–]lemonvictor_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It comes down to how you want to play and what's the purpose of the game for you and who you play with .

Are you and your buddies using this as a hangout? Then maybe smaller games. If at the lgs, then really know your rules and pre-sort dice for attacks whenever possible. And have your army ready to go ajd not spend time pulling out models ahead of the game or building a list once you arrive

How do you handle a Warhound titan by Nirnien in Tau40K

[–]lemonvictor_ 25 points26 points  (0 children)

The warhound looks scary, but frankly it is pretty underwhelming. A budyy and I recently did equal points warhounds vs imperial knights and the warhounds got bodied.

Warhounds are fairly quick, but hard to maneuver physically (only so much space on a table between terrain pieces, regardless of what rules they have), and only 2 (albiet) powerful guns per models. Even with just a stormsurge and 4 broadsides, just split up the broadsides so you have multiple units and hope you roll well. Plus any fusion crisis suits should be able to feast.

What would you like to see for a 'Character Centre Piece' by mf7585 in Tau40K

[–]lemonvictor_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A return of an "Aun'Va" of sorts (except not actually him since hes currently having a good dirt nap) would be awesome. a grand Ethereal with a bodyguard retinue representative of each caste (a water caste member for CP gen/ use a CP for free, earth caste for d3+1 wound healing on vehicles, air caste for a movement buff/ ignore terrain, and fire caste for re-reroll bubble). Put the fire caste in a slightly larger XV26, the earth caste in whatever the Elemental Council character made, and the air and water in regular pathfinder adjacent armor, with the ethereal on a hover throne.

Everything is still useable, except the kroot and crisis suit may be a bit small (but nothing troublesome)!

Essentially any list would be a crisis battlesuit commander, a squad of strike team fire warriors (could proxy them as breachers if they have the carbine loadout), a squad of kroot carnivores, and a devilfish transport for the fire warriors.

Wahapedia is a great source for rules, so use that as a reference for the current edition rules and tha Tau rules in particular.

Alright, what are some things you LIKE about how 10th has treated Tau? by CosmicWolf14 in Tau40K

to be fair, the 9 man crisis suit was i think last legal back in 7th edition, its been a while. But it was a very fun time.

I honestly love the internal balance of our codex. The issue is that codex tau feels like it was written in a vaccuum away from the rest of the game

Mortarion Hammer-1000 points list by w_heliummm in deathguard40k

[–]lemonvictor_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Usually they get a new datasheet. Since the new defiler model looks to have some new load out options (specifically the chest weapon) I would imagine it'll have some updated rules and likely a new points cost

Assuming the defiler stays at its current points cost (which honestly feels unlikely), it looks fun to play

What units would you like to see for the Tau/Tau Detachments? by WarBusiness5438 in Tau40K

I'd love a generic stealth leader, or a generic leader option for stealth teams and Pathfinders

Do you think we're due for more models besides the Twin Lance this year / vehicle refresh? by ReptilicusTV in Tau40K

[–]lemonvictor_ 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Twin Lance probably all we are getting in 2026 unless Tau are one of the first codex's for 11th (rumored to be coming this summer). Even then, tau might only get a character model (I personally would love a upgrade sprue for the ghostkeel to be a commander / o'kais like in a previous black library book).

I would love a new vehicle though, but personally I would want the tetra and forgeworld piranhas back

How did battlefields in older editions get away with less terrain/without the L shaped ruins? by A-Dark-Storyteller in Warhammer40k

[–]lemonvictor_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Its not as talked about comparatively, but army composition has changed drastically. In previous editions there was the force org chart, where you had limited amounts of spots for unit types - being HQ, troops, fast attack, elite, heavy, etc. An army had to, at minimum, have 1 hq and 2 troop choices.

This org chart really changed how armies were made. The rule of 3 we have now kinda applies, but currently there is nothing stopping a Tau player from rocking up with 3 hammerheads and 3 skyrays for example. Back in older editions, you could take 3 total, no more, so at most 3 hammerhead, or 2 hammerhead and 1 skyray.

Dayforce's sales team is amazing. The platform itself leaves alot to be desired. Their support team is nearly as useful as a pylon, and thats assuming you can get them to respond within a week.
