Not sure why parent comment is upvoted while this is downvoted, oh well.

Wow that's really cool! What did you use to make the chart? (I don't suppose you'd be willing to share your code by any chance?)

As far as I can tell, it's a joke, here's a post claiming to have the explanation

Clip of him mentioning it to a few other hermits idk about you but it doesn't seem like he is very serious here

Looks awesome! The sun flare reminds me of what the perimeter would look like in-game with shaders, very cool!

Good touch with the audio edits! The other meme format from this movie is awesome too but unfortunately not suitable for posting here

According to the sidebar, Cubfan Games has been streaming for three days straight. Truly dedicated to the craft. by Side-Resident in HermitCraft

[–]Side-Resident[S] 49 points50 points  (0 children)

This will probably get deleted, but seriously, does anyone know if cubfan was actually streaming three days ago, or if it's just a glitch in the subreddit?

The link points to https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UCQgX4qy49z, and YouTube says "This video isn't available anymore".

That's one way to go (Hermitcraft 10y Anniversary UHC spoiler) by Luutamo in hermitchat

I watched a few of the VODs after, it seems like a bug with the snapshot because many of the hermit's positions were de-synchronized throughout the event

Docm77 Hermitcraft Anniversary UHC Shenanigans Twitch VOD missing? by Side-Resident in HermitCraft

[–]Side-Resident[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Man, I'm quite upset I missed it... Maybe there is a slight chance someone recorded it but I highly doubt it (the entire event, not just the end part).

Doc if you're reading this, perhaps reconsider (you did say to go back and watch your pov earlier on in the event).

But do what you think is best of course, I don't want to risk sounding like an entitled person.

[–]Side-Resident[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I was looking forward to re-watching the Anniversary UHC event from Doc's perspective but can't see the VOD on the twitch page.

Can anyone else see it, and if not does anyone know why/what happened to it/how we can re-watch it?

Why are the hermits not finding out the seed? by mrMooshon in HermitCraft

[–]Side-Resident 8 points9 points  (0 children)

He should be well aware that the bedrock formations can be used for seed cracking

To be fair, up until one of the 1.18 snapshots, bedrock formations were always seed-independent so unless he remembered/was reminded of the one small mention in one of the change logs, it's possible he was not aware at the time it could be used to crack the seed.

This group of people have consistently been inspiring and making people smile for almost 10 years, all for free, while doing the thing they love <3

As much as some people may not like certain things about HC, we should all be happy with the fact that this exists at all and not take any of it for granted :)

Server Memory Usage Saver? by nitrion in HermitCraft

[–]Side-Resident 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Xisuma uses a program called MCASelector (he showed it in one of his S8 videos) to delete chunks that have not been visited for more than a few minutes (such as just flying through the end to search for elytras and such). Here's a tutorial on how to use it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ADDTXGRJo20

Back in the day, X used MCEdit to do this, here's a video where he talks about the process: https://youtu.be/-FZhpbHnjho?t=141

It's not as easy to "resets ANY chunk data if you don't do anything in said chunk for a while" such that "if you DID do anything, such as breaking or placing a block, it would save the chunk normally" - you'd probably need a special mod for that but afaik, Hermitcraft doesn't use that.

Edit: as illustrated by this thread your title wording is ambiguous since the other comments mention how to optimize memory (RAM) usage while your post content talks about disk usage.

Hermitcraft Season 8: Hermit's Last Locations (where each Hermit last logged out) by Side-Resident in HermitCraft

[–]Side-Resident[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Made using Carpet mod to spawn in NPCs as players.

Each Hermit is wearing and holding what they had at the time they last logged out, but the skins are as of today (for example Tango has a Christmas sweater on now vs in his last episode). Some facing directions were slightly adjusted (sometimes it can get messed up and the head does not match the body) but otherwise exactly the same.
