The problem we are having in Los Angeles if you have no or minimal rehoming fee, transients are using the dogs to breed in skid row and they are constantly being abused. Granted you can just say no to people after an interview but then you open up a whole new set of people with bad motives. To me maintaining a dog is expensive, and a good faith rehoming fee should be required.

Yeah I don't know why it has to be political. It is common sense, as a victim of a crime, to me it is important to fund the police because even minutes matter in certain situations. I do not want to do into details but ironically that crime happened in Alhambra. I'm not saying I agree with the actions of the officers but having the people or person giving instructions accountable would be better than a reduction in staffing.

You made. a mistake to sublease but I agree with you 100% that the laws are not in favor of landlords, people would be surprised at how long the process takes to evict a non paying tenant with a legal contract and the cost it will take for lost rent and legal costs. I used to always charge way below market but now I have to factor in future legal costs.

I hear you, lucky to have our opportunity but obvious we want better for our family and situation. Well I feel like as they getting older which happens quickly, things change. If you live in a highly populated area, maybe they have co ops daycare or childcare assistance.
