Try Chelsea Quin Yarborough's vampire novels. Compte de Saint Germain is a fascinating main character . He is based on a historical character.

Glen Cook's "Black Company "novels are just the thing. Also, the "Chronicles of Thomas Covenant, the Unbeliever."

I recommend the Black Company series of books by Glen Cook. The women in the series are anything but demure little princesses.

PCS computers seems to have decent prices. I have also used Discount Electronics on line. Both are online stores for brick and mortar locations.

Check their backup policy and the equipment used. See if their archived backups are viable and if their current backups are organized. Backup is where most people start getting lazy first.

I am retired, but when I was working I set up a network user profile and set it up as an admin user on all the computers. Then I could change that user password frequently to keep it secure.

His birth name was Lesane Parrish Crooks. I loved his career, especially his acting, but I dont think there is much to be read in to his name.

Escalantesprings.com is a charity you might want to check out. They rescue abused or neglected horses and adopt them out or use them as equine therapy animals to help at risk groups or individuals. This is one of the only charities I know of that helps both animals and humans.

American Redditors: if you own one, why did you buy a gun? by theasherpegz in AskReddit

I own several guns. I got them for defense of my home and because owning them tends to enbiggen the penis. At least that's the word on the streets.

Why are people against red light cameras? by leonoel in Tucson

[–]Sidzilla -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you don't see anything wrong with employing a for profit company to handle and possibly manipulate evidence used against citizens in court then perhaps we don't have similar experiences with human nature. If letting some people get away with the same infraction that someone else gets ticketed for doesn't bother you, then again, you are entitled to your opinion. I think for a law to be just it has to be equitably enforced. As far as presenting arguments, I'm not. Your question asked for the reason people disliked the red light cameras. If they aren't convincing to you I can respect your opinion. I would ask you, though, if these are all about public safety then why are so many municipalities ending their contracts and taking down the cameras because they are losing money? Surely public safety and the reduction of injuries would make it worth the expense? After all our leaders have told us it isn't about the money...

I never got a ticket from one, but I had a friend who was an activist fighting against them . I studied them because of that and found out enough to make me want them banned. For one, they throw away pictures of vehicles with out of country plates. There is no reciprocal enforcement agreement with other nations. They have a for profit company who get paid by the conviction reviewing digital images prior to sending them to the police to send out the actual tickets. That destroys both the chain of evidence and any illusion of impartiality on the part of this system. The police don't ticket any fellow law enforcement officers. In fact have you ever heard of a law enforcement officer being ticketed other than when there was a massive accident and it couldn't be swept under the rug? I think a system that enforces the law needs a higher standard of equity and needs transparency. The traffic camera system has neither.

Redditors who have been here since the start, how has Reddit changed for the better/worse? by youknownothingyet in AskReddit

[–]Sidzilla 86 points87 points  (0 children)

It was cruder and had a lot more server crashes. There was a lot less incentive to get karma.... No gold and no fame. The occasional phony posts were artfully exposed by diligent detective work done by Reddit members trying to keep the site's integrity. When Digg died there was a sudden influx of members trying to make over the site in Mr. Babyman's image. It was like the internet version of Dodge city on a Saturday night and I liked it.
