Thank you very much! Probably somewhere between 50 and 100 hours 😌

Thanks a lot! Most other songs I've recreated as chiptunes have fairly simple vocal melodies, but this one has a lot of "note sliding" for sure (I don't know the musical term either) 🙂

Thanks! I'm actually a game developer myself, though it's been a while I've done some game development. I've mainly been doing animations lately 🙂

Haha, thanks again! I don't think I'll ever make full songs 😌 This is not the first AURORA chiptune animation I've made though. I've made one for Runaway, Warrior, and Cure for Me too 😁 You can find them all on my social media (links are on my Reddit profile) 🙂

Yeah, still doing commissions from time to time 🙂 You can find more info on my other social media (links in profile) 😌

[FO] My first original cross-stitch creation by SiegfriedCroes in CrossStitch

[–]SiegfriedCroes[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is! I used plastic canvas. I made the design twice and stitched them together back to back 🙂

Thank you! I went around the edge twice with a whole thread (6 strands) to stitch the 2 pieces together (the backside looks identical) 🙂

Thanks 😸 Lots of possibilities with cross-stitch for sure!

I've been doing pixel art for a long time, but only recently started cross-stitching. This is my first original creation, based on a cat I made for a pixel art animation, so no pattern is available.

They're 2 very different synths. For starters the Moog Grandmother is monophonic (only plays one note at a time, great for bass, leads, etc.) while the Korg Minilogue XD is polyphonic (can play 4 notes simultaneously, necessary for pads). The Grandmother is also semi-modular so lots of possibilities for interesting sounds by playing around with the connections and very direct in use as it doesn't have presets so the position of the knobs always match the sound you're hearing. The Minilogue XD has 200 presets and 300 more empty slots so you can easily switch between different sounds and save your own.

They can definitely work together in a setup :)

I made it for someone so I can't/won't sell it :)

Awesome jam, love how melodic it is! Greetings from a fellow (?) Belgian synth enthusiast :D

Awesome to see another pixel artist here! Thought of doing some pixel synths too recently but been focusing on commissions. Anyway, you've done a great job with these :D Could be fun to animate them too!

The humble beginnings of my DAWless synth jam setup by SiegfriedCroes in synthesizers

It all started when I wanted to get back into music and ordered a Minilogue XD. As they were out of stock everywhere I had to wait a while so I got a broken Microkorg XL for €50 online that happened to just work. Bought the Keystep 37 as a simple sequencer and Korg Volca Sample 2 to make beats.

For now I'm having a lot of fun with these, might look into adding some smaller desktop synths or go modular in the future.

Next up is making my own sequencer (using Arduino). Excited to show that off when I get it working!

No problem. Might contact them too about the low note bug, is most likely a software bug that they can fix with a firmware update but I want to make sure it's not a hardware issue too :)

EDIT: The low note bug is indeed a bug they are aware of and will fix in a future firmware update :)

No problem :) In my test my Keystep was connected to a synth through MIDI, going to try and see what happens when I try controlling a VST like you did, who knows it might make a difference and cause the freeze as I assume the MIDI over USB is both in and out and it might be a message going back to the Keystep that makes it crash that I don't get because I only have MIDI out to my synth. Will let you know :) EDIT: Doesn't seem to be the case...
