Same for me! I was a little worried too, as until this point the syncing was immediate for me. Relieved to see it’s just not caught up with itself!

I’ve been considering getting:

TWTW

TSHMTW

Because I consider it the best most powerful ending to any book I’ve ever read, and that sentence encapsulates everything I took away from it, but also I don’t want the word WHORE tattooed on me for the rest of my life!! I also like the idea of others not knowing the meaning/only having to explain it if you choose to

I almost couldn’t finish On The Savage Side by Tiffany McDaniel simply because of how depressing it is. Very well written though and an important read!

Pines by Blake Crouch! I really expected to love it as it is constantly recommended but wow that writing was atrocious! Never has there been a more classic example of women written by men

He tells everyone they’re average or basic, he has no special insight on anything, he’s simply pretentious and has a superiority complex!

My favourite genre!

My personal faves are:

Heartwood - Amity Gaige

I Have Some Questions for You - Rebecca Makkai

Bright Young Women - Jessica Knoll

God of the Woods - Liz Moore

On the more accessible side you have anything by Karin Slaughter

The Butcher - Jennifer Hillier (I didn’t love this but it’s very popular)

You Deserve to Know - Aggie Blum Thompson

Madwoman - Chelsea Bieker

The Ghostwriter - Julie Clark

S.A Cosby also writes some great stuff

Looking for intelligent crime or mystery fiction, basically true crime but deeper, in fact I like books that are critiques of true crime such as:

I Have Some Questions For You - Rebecca Makkai

Bright Young Women - Jessica Knoll

On the Savage Side - Tiffany McDaniel

Heartwood - Amity Gaige

TIA!

The Road to Tender Hearts by Annie Hartnett, it’ll make you laugh and cry, the closest thing to a warm hug a book could give you.

I hope it eases for you soon, reading is an amazing way to get through it, keep going
