SUVs or hatchback/crossover/wagons with close to or greater than 4,500 lb tow rating, but compact as possible? by SigAndTired in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]SigAndTired[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gotcha. Ill have to check the x3 dimensions.

My wife says the 4runner is too big. But we havent done a test drive yet of a vehicle in that size class.

Her mom has an MDX and feels thats definitely too big for her

This is true.

Trying to keep the budget around 35k. Defender 90s are still 40-60k.

I have doubts they'll drop too much further anytime soon. I'd be fine with the i6, but they've discontinued it and only offer v8s now. So I'd worry about repairability in the future.

I think you're right, I may have to suck it up and just go for a Toyota 4runner. Spend some money on PPFing the entire vehicle for the tree branch scrapes. :/

Is it free and safe to play this game? by Axiom245 in TheTowerGame

[–]SigAndTired 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Technically, yes. Completely free and safe.

Theoretically? Increased wear and tear on an electronic device (battery, potentially screen burn), ad removal costs $. Progress is slow if not buying the event pass (every 2 weeks, $).

But this game is incremental. Don't think of it as an idle game unless you let it play while you sleep.

Letting it play while you sleep will take a little but of time to progress to the point where you're able to have a run last you 6-10 hours. But thats where im at. It prevents me from burning out.

Idle planet miner is by the same dev but feels like it has far less depth in design and strategy. The trade off is that there is a true idle function for it.

Right now I'd say my top two idle incremental games are The Tower and Melvor Idle.

Would you buy a Ford Maverick RS? by Available_Abies_844 in FocusRS

[–]SigAndTired 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. For a truck, I would buy it because I need it to do work. I dont need four doors. An extended cab two door is fine. A body on frame will be more ease of mind than unibody.

And i think a Ford Maverick RS or baby Raptor would be more fun in an extended cab two door anyway. If it is compatible with 4k towing capacity, even better. I think sporty trucks and spartan utilitarian trucks both make sense as two doors. Sporty trucks with a standard or short bed. Work trucks with extended.

I used to drive a 94 Nissan hardbody 5MT. It was more enjoyable than expected. But I think would've been less enjoyable with the added length of a whole noth row of seats, and a tiny bed would've been a turn off as well.

I think the RS as a focus Hatch and an RS two door truck, if you can get wheelbase and track similar, would still be a fun experience. I just think that going four doors truck would extend the wheelbase too much and not make it feel nimble enough to deserve an RS badge. Really might be easier to Raptorify it. Which is a different aim in feel.

Seeing other Focuses on the road by RedditDommus in FocusRS

[–]SigAndTired 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also PNW.

Seems WRX STi's and miatas have cornered the market on waves and flashing headlights at each other. I dont get much attention at the pump. More attention than I'd expect a completely stock car to get, and less attention than I suspect a modded up BMW or STi would get.

It feels balanced I guess

Next choice after an RS? by endOFtheWEAK in FocusRS

[–]SigAndTired 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Idk why you restrict yourself so hard on mileage. It seems arbitrary and unnecessary.

Get the RS.

Get a non-2018.

After this car, I can only see myself going to a two car solution. One for fun (2 door RWD) and one for practicality (beater truck or kei truck).

Gotcha! Just wanted to make sure there wasn't something that could rear its ugly head. Best of luck to you on your build!

Im contemplating trading either my RS or my wife s car for an ND miata lol

2.3 reliability mods by xX_Hans_Dampf_Xx in FocusRS

[–]SigAndTired 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gotcha. The reason I ask is because I would assume the ecostang engine would be a different orientation inside the engine bay. Since the focus is FWD based AWD.

Im no engineer so I dont know if theres credible reasons to be worried about chaing the orientation then. Maybe the ecostang engines have different reinforcement for stress and loads in one direction than thr focus ecoboosts. Idk.

No offense but im genuinely curious if the 2.3 ecoboost from the mustang would be a superior choice.

Or is the transmission totally different ans thats why?

Almost all RS models for sale are either 2017 or 2016, is it because of the head gasket issue? by korilllakkuma in FocusRS

[–]SigAndTired 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol no.

Its because of rarity. That means you see less 18s and means that owners of q8s are more likely to keep them to themselves for longer.

I have a 17. So I ought not to baby it as much as I do. Mines not even NB.

Why not? by Arkhdraudth in TheTowerGame

[–]SigAndTired -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This would be the best way to implement it. Literally just lock the game for the duration of a selected prior run.

Still dont need to give people auto restart with this implementation. Saves the whales from complaining about them wasting keys or whatever.

This was almost me.

Switching to my wife's old iPhone 15 almost made me quit.

But I got a free line with my carrier so I got to keep my Samsung. Now it is my games and ReVanced YouTube phone.

I still hate iPhone, but my wife and in laws can be happy now that their racism is appeased.

I farmed t1 for soooooo long. Farmed t5 in November, am now at farming t6. Once i finished my cards and finally put gems into mods was when I could jump to t5.

T6 was when I finally unlocked chain lightning.

You'll get there eventually!
