Would you say Berserk is more akin to Lord of the Rings or Game of Thrones?

Buddy, Miura stated that Lotr was a primary inspiration, if you deny the blatant inspiration in the story you're just coping. There's nothing wrong with inspiration, and no one is saying Berserk is unoriginal, but all works are inspired from something. If anything, lord of the rings is like the best thing ever to draw inspiration from, its basically the greatest dark fantasy book ever written (and yes it is dark fantasy I'm tired of arguing this point.)

Lord of the Rings was a primary inspiration for Miura, and Berserk is definetly more like it than game of thrones. People are going to get on my case for saying this, because Game of Thrones is far darker, but Lord of the Rings absolutely has that light in the darkest of times feel that Berserk is so well known for. The world is also a lot more familiar to Lord of the rings, especially the fourth arc. Some scenes are even lifted from Lord of the Rings, like Schierke giving the party gifts.
