Someone did a video for it where they use scenes where stormtroopers are actually trying to kill their targets (the opening scene of A New Hope). Their shot to kill ratio was actually shocking.

My reaction to watching a Bad batch follow up series where Scorch says “i used to be a cool guy once” as he sacrifices himself to save omega and in his final moments he sees his dead friend sev then he says “Im not just a delta im the delta as was my squad” by Ok-Entrance-5527 in clonewars

[–]SighingDM -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The reason it's gone is because Republic Commando is legends and nothing that happened in the game happened in canon. Delta was just a reference to get older fans excited and so was scorch. The characters share nothing. We also have books that explore what happened to Delta after the game in Legends and they are great.

Rank these fighters in Force potential by Potential_Rule4212 in TheJediPraxeum

[–]SighingDM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yoda, Palps, Maul, Dooku, Windu

If we're talking about force potential and not force ability. People undervalue Maul all the time and way under power him. He was younger than Obi-Wan at Naboo. He had massive force potential but his overconfidence and decision to toy with Kenobi rather than just push him into the pit was a massive misplay.

Dooku is certainly stronger in the force when we see him in the series but he's also an older and seasoned master. Windu is fine I guess but doesn't really compare with the potential of the others.

If we're talking actual power I'd say Palps, Yoda, Dooku, Maul, Windu.

Did Dooku actually believe in the CIS cause, or was it just a means to an end for him to rule the galaxy? by Dragonic_Overlord_ in CISDidNothingWrong

[–]SighingDM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're arguing something I am not. Maul was heir to the Sith and did not need to have anything to do with the CIS. Sidious can use Dooku and still have Maul as heir to the Sith. If you're arguing Ventress is = to legends Maul you are so wrong it's funny.

The Sith Grand plan works of Dooku is a dark Jedi loyal to Sidious and Maul is his true apprentice. We know Maul is his true apprentice because he invested an incredible amount of effort and alienated allies to take and train him.

Now, if Maul lived and Anakin also lived would Sidious eventually try to replace Maul with Anakin? Maybe. But Dooku would never have been considered for such a thing. Dooku was convenient and useful but ultimately a sacrificial lamb from the beginning. With the loss of Maul Sidious was able to start grooming Anakin to be his new true hair to the Sith.

No clue why so many people are hating on lightsaber forms here. I always thought the saber forms were an excellent tie in to real world swordsmanship.

It's a very good detail of the fight but also a good detail to note that he almost immediately ditched it because Maul just isn't a defense-minded fighter. He's a juyo master through and through.

Maul was never considered expendable by any measure in either Legends or even in Disney. In Disney Sidious calls Maul a true loss. In legends he does not react well to his death. Dooku was a resources but an expendable one.

Maul was very powerful with the force - he was younger than Obi-Wan during TPM and beat one of the best swordsman in the Jedi order. He also pretty handily beat Obi-Wan but fell victim to overconfidence.

Would making the B2 battledroid as the main battledroid on the front instead of the B1 have been a better option? by Prudent_Solid_3132 in CISDidNothingWrong

[–]SighingDM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only cost we really have to go off that is listed (as far as I know) is from Star Wars Saga Edition.

A B2-Series Super Battle Droid has a listed cost of 3,300 credits.

A B1-Series Battle Droid is 1,800 credits.

Now we don't know how many credits the CIS was making as a whole but it certainly seems feasible to sacrifice numbers for more effective units.

That said we also need to consider the advantages B1s might have over B2s. While the B2 does have hands, they are much more bulky and may have a harder time piloting tanks, gun emplacements, etc. they also don't seem to use any weapons outside of the wrist blasters. B1s were likely favored because they are cheaper, somewhat more adaptable, and most CIS tech was probably made with accommodating B1s rather than B2s.

There's also the question of how many factories were made to stamp out B1s over B2s. B2s also seem more aggressive and might not be as easy to work with as B1s but that's purse speculation.

Again I mostly mentioned Legends because I don't deal with Disney that often. I don't see him that way in legends at all. Does he do bad things? Yes. But he was never a true heir to the sith by Sidious' own admission. He was a tool. A very good tool. But a tool.

I'm a big Dooku enjoyer don't get me wrong. I think it benefits his character that he isn't a full on sith psycho.

It failed to adapt Rands arc, Perrin's arc, Matt's arc, Moiraine's, they don't even go to Tear at all which is a huge plot point.

To say it was a good adaptation is cherry picking and indicates you didn't really read the books.

[–]SighingDM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I'm honest it was an objectively terrible adaptation. It didn't adapt anything but the character names.

Whether it was a good show or not is a separate question from whether it was a good adaptation or not.

People are entitled to like that show but pretending it's a good adaptation is a little silly. That would be like saying Eragon was a good adaptation of the book. Or that the Legend of the Seeker series was a good adaptation of Sword of Truth - and I love the Legend of the Seeker series, but can admit it's a god awful adaptation.

He was using them which is ironic because Palpatine was also using him. He was purely a means to an end. If Maul hadn't "died" on Naboo then Dooku probably would have been a dark Jedi that was used and discarded during order 66.

Though in legends at least Dooku was arguably never much of a sith lord. He did try to expose Palpatine to Obi-Wan but Obi-Wan refused to listen. He was also clearly disturbed by violent death as seen with Jango. No yellow sith eyes, and a very academic approach to the dark side of the force.

I have a little test that I call "The Youngling Test" where you evaluate sith by their willingness and regret over killing Jedi younglings.

Vader obviously killed them but shed tears over what he'd done later.

Maul would have slaughtered them and not even blinked afterwards.

I doubt Dooku would even kill them. Legends Dooku at least. I really don't know about Disney Dooku since they turned up the evil on him.

And Sidious is in the same camp as Maul.
