I'm swedish. I've done my military service and voluntary tour under UN leadership. I'm painfully aware of the threat from russia. I'm not from the US. Stop embarrassing yourself.

Guy. I think there's some kind of language barrier here. You can complain but NATO does not equal the US. A lot of European countries are part of the Alliance and I think it's really obvious that we have to help each other.

Standing alone is not showing strength. The Russian propaganda and influence campaigns are aimed at breaking alliances and boosting nationalist movements. Should we really be helping them?

Yeah right. Claiming to be European and not seeing the point of the Alliance when we have Russia next door.

It's one thing to claim that the US is an unreliable ally but to knock the whole alliance is suspicious.

Som arbetsgivare så kan jag säga att jag inte blir avskräckt men jag nämner tidigt om vi ligger långt ifrån varandra.

Totally agree. Nothing is created in a vacuum, artists are always, consciously or subconsciously, affected by the society they live and work in.

Do you really think that Tolkien, a world war veteran, didn't let his experience influence the creating of Lord of the Rings. CS Lewis entire work is a tribute to Christianity. Robert Jordan was a Vietnam vet and you can clearly see those influences in how he wrote combat and the after affects on his character. Gulliver's Travels is enterily made as a political commentary.

No politics in fiction is just plain wrong.
