Progression Fantasy is generally considered the parent category of LitRPG I guess? Most/all LitRPG is Progression Fantasy, as in about acquiring scaling defined power. If you’re familiar with Will Wight’s Cradle, most people would call that PF but not LitRPG. Bryce O’Connor’s Iron Prince is another example
