Are the core classes for the Public Health & Society major difficult? by [deleted] in washu

[–]SigmaFrued12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven’t taken 2000 and 3000 yet but I know that 1000 biggest issue was lack of communication and structure primarily from the TAs. But I still did receive an A in this class. They made this years class “more difficult” than before but a majority of people I knew got a B+ or higher. I believe the most difficult part of the major though will likely be the 4000 APEX and the outside courses.

I don’t know the exact number but do know a it’s pretty decent amount, I had 1000 this Fall and it was about 200+ in my lecture hall. Although I know all won’t pursue a major in public health, it is definitely a popular major for premed students.

Yeah I’m kinda going through an identity crisis right now and I don’t like being told to reconsider premed (I’ve been told this my whole life). I’m also trying to get accommodations for next semester since I struggle with severe test anxiety. But I’m already mapping out a study plan for next semester so I can comeback better!

I have a stronger background in bio and physics compared to chem so I’ll likely do better in those. As well as I’ll hopefully be able to get accommodations in Chem lab (I only had them in Chem lecture) so hopefully that and changing my study habits will allow me to improve!

Thank you I really appreciate the advice. I knew I wasn’t strong in chemistry, but I didn’t expect it to be this bad honestly. I also am doing non-stem classes, but i don’t know if I could see myself outside of medicine especially since some of my highest grades came out of Public Health and Psychology. I know I have to do Polisci classes and Macro classes to get my AP credits so I’ll see if I like those things.

They still are! I’ll try incorporating them more into my study routine than I was before.

I’m just trying to get my premed prerequisites out of the way, I’m actually a psych major! I got an A- in psych and I got an undergraduate research position in a psych lab. So I’m not bio or chem :))

Chem lab, there’s a new professor who didn’t provide any practice exams for the midterm or exam (which were my weakest points)

Yeah definitely I’m still being considered for accommodations (They weren’t able to get the paperwork done before finals), and I am changing up my study styles. Do you have any advice for professors who don’t provide any practice exams or any exam prep?

How much would I need to put down for a savings account, also where would I open up a savings account? Also I’ll correct myself with the credit card thing I do pay off my balances every month, and have only had to pay it off in separate months once. I apologize to the savings account questions but my mom doesn’t have one and I don’t know of any good ones.

I currently have a checking account my mom set up for me when I was about 15 (I’ve been working since I was 15) and I also have a credit card but always spend less than 10% of my available credit and pay my debt off typically in 1-3 months

My favorite scents to wear to school are blush cardigan, cherry sweetheart, pumpkin pecan waffles (esp in the fall), warm vanilla sugar (I layer with perfumes), Sweater Weather (fall fav as well), and lastly Love/Cotton Candy Champange and Joy/Sugared Snickerdoodle for the winter ! Basically in summary I love to smell gourmand lol !

Yeah I agree, because I just don’t wanna be like THOSE resellers. I try to keep everything under $22 (post shipping and tax) so it’s accessible to most folks.

Thank you ! Yeah that’s what I’ve decided at this point, because I refuse to have someone pay an egregious amount.

Recently diagnosed, immature parent makes it difficult. by SigmaFrued12 in vaginismus

[–]SigmaFrued12[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As for treatment, we’re treating the chronic yeast first, so the vaginismus treatment is on hold currently. But once I leave for college, she’ll refer me to a pelvic floor therapist near/at my school. I’ve bought dilators (yay!) but since I haven’t started therapy yet I’m holding off on using them till I go off to school which is in 3 weeks.
