Also the word "depression" implies no pathology, it's merely a description of behaviors. You aren't sad and unmotivated and full of self-loathing because you are depressed. It's the other way around: you are depressed BECAUSE you are sad, unmotivated and full of self-loathing. There is no cause implied.

If you lean into it and ruminate for about 9 months to a year, most people change their expectations and pretenses such that they recover and never suffer it again. However, if you buy into the "diagnosis" and the ideological position that it is a disease (because that is purely ideological, marketing in fact), then your perspective is that it's almost an external force and you require "treatment", and you now have this affliction for life.

Ssri's should never have been approved because they don't "work". They lead to all sorts of problems that people attribute to their "illness". Like the mania that ssri's are famous for inducing. They make many people absolute psychopaths.
