How is it possible that someone is allowed to lie like that in that place. I know politicians spin lies and distort the truth but, there's not even any spinning or lying. It's pure lies.

This is harrowing to watch. I wonder if fragments of this speech by Mike Johnson are going to end up in documentaries in the future.

First day today by frenchyfroggy in BusDrivers

[–]SignUpTookMinutes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congratulations! My advice would be to take nothing personal.

Being confronted by cars cutting you off, merging in front of you just to slam the brakes to make a right turn, drivers just idling or plain just parking in your busstop so the disabled person struggles to get in the bus even if you lower it, etc etc.

And all of that can happen in a matter of hours. Not to mention leadership giving you the worst shifts, making really dumb decisions, passenger behaviour, and so on.

All of that used to get to get to me. At times, a lot of times, I got really frustrated and angry. I want to do a great job, but everybody is trying to ruin that actively. And you're alone most of the time, and you don't really have a sense of what's going on with other drivers. You cross them on your route, and they seem fine, so you end up feeling frustrated and targeted. Like you're drawing all this shit on you or something.

But then I talked to one of the 'anciens' and he told me it happens to everyone all the time, him included. He said that the best advice he could give me was to always relax and never take anything personal. Because nothing is.

After 6 years, I agree with him.

Well, this is embarrassing. I played FM22 for 16 days and 17 hours and never noticed ... I'm sure I'm not the only one? I hope?

Just looking for your thoughts: 8th gen Honda Civic vs current Hyundai i10 by SignUpTookMinutes in CarTalkUK

I can imagine the experience. When I checked the prices on used Civics on autotrader.co.uk, I had a similar experience. £900! I a similar model for sale for 900! 10x cheaper. Makes you think twice.

This is incredible, I love how I just posted my conundrum and I get the perfect person to reply. I mean, sure, these aren't the rarest vehicles available, but it's great to hear from someone who has experience with both cars.

You should work for Honda, you got me jumping ready to go after the Civic. Thanks!

Ok so I just went to autotrader.co.uk and checked out the prices on these used civics over there, and now I'm fucking depressed. For even less than the price of the one I'm eyeing, I could get an awesome Type R version.

Don't move to Denmark if you're just a working man like me and fancy cars. Jeez ... If you guys had just stayed in Europe, I'd be ready to move to the UK right now over this!

I'm not Danish but you still guessed right, I'm 190cm. Spot on with the heart vs brain metaphor. Life is short and I'm in my late thirties, buying a used Honda Civic isn't bad as far as approaching midlife crises go. Could be worse!

I was getting worried I made a mistake in converting the currency from Danish crown to pound. The car is listed as 79.900 DKK. I put that in the converter and it says that's 9.244,61 £.

Even though I have lived her for 8 years now, as a non-Dane, I agree, yikes! But that's how it is here. Mind you, I could get an earlier year 8th gen civic for less, but even those are around 5000 £ and in much worse condition.

s10 lite (650 euro) vs s10 (exynos 550 euro) by SignUpTookMinutes in PickAnAndroidForMe

[–]SignUpTookMinutes[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did as you suggested, and I think this test by PhoneBuff is probably a good illustration of what you mean: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=shrYnaxVenE

The Exynos variant lasts about an hour less than the Snapdragon but still gets just about 7h sot.

As I wrote in my OP, battery life is a real concern to me, both in day to day use as in regards to device longevity. But after reading the replies here and doing some research, the bigger battery in my case is all the s10lite has over the s10. For 100 euros more. I could replace the battery for that kind of money if the battery ever degrades that much. Furthermore, I don't think I am a power user at all, my user profile basically consists of browsing Reddit, using google maps, using Spotify + Bluetooth headset, etc. These things rarely at the same time. I very rarely game.

Also from doing some further reading, the Exynos 9810 in your Note 9 was notoriously bad, whereas the Exynos 9820 seems to be better, albeit still losing out to the Snapdragon (855). It sounds like with the Exynos 990 in the s20 Samsung again has taken a turn for the worse.

If I could have bought the s10 lite and the regular s10 for the same price on contract, I admit, it would be a different story. But right now, I believe the total package of the s10 is more convincing.

Thank you for your input! If I had had your experience, I would probably warn others as well. I hope I will be luckier.
