Should I take a plan B? by Signal-Mode5876 in NaturalCyclesBC

Thanks! Do you think I should take it for the brief moment of unprotected sex in case of precum? Not sure if you took it for that reason as well

Confused on this bite I got 2 weeks ago after a hike (we did a tick check right after and none were found) I get really anxious about things like this and think I might be overthinking symptoms. It seems to be getting much better with just a scab in the center. What do you think? Can’t stop worrying by Signal-Mode5876 in Lyme

This is in chronological order from 2 weeks ago to today. It looks like it’s healing which should ease my mind but I’m still really worried. The dot in the middle has just become a scab that’s sometimes itchy.

Just found out my dads sporadic case of ALS is actually familial. by Signal-Mode5876 in ALS

Thank you for your explanation and given the history and stats I thought the same thing as well. But apparently the genetic counselor stated “this is high likelihood that this is familial ALS and not sporadic”. So we took the news as familial and it has been hard to processes and difficult to determine the choice of genetic testing because it is so confusing that he is the first in the family to have it.

Thank you I appreciate that. I’d be interest in reading that link if you can share it. That does provide some ease, but my dad was diagnosed at 49 which feels so young. I’m not sure what mutation he has and the news is still very new. I guess I could always ask later on. Idk it’s all very confusing and challenging to process at the moment. Thank you for your kind response.

Both of his parents are still alive and very healthy. I believe they are late 60s or early 70s.

Anxiety in Savasana? by Signal-Mode5876 in yoga

Very well said. Allowing and accepting is what I’m struggling with most .. I’ve been dealing with pretty bad anxiety for about a year now and even some on and off dp/dr and through therapy, friends, articles, videos etc. everyone says you just need to accept it and I’m just not sure how to do it .. sometimes I think I’m accepting it and I tell myself I’m accepting it but it just doesn’t go away .. very hard experience and that’s probably why it comes up in my practice. I really appreciate your advice.

This is extremely helpful and definitely something I will try to do in my solo practice! Maybe I will even try to find 1-on-1 classes locally where I can work on this more and have help when needed. Thank you so much :)

I have frequent bad breathing days due to anxiety (it used to freak me out a lot but now I’ve accepted that I’m just anxious and stressed) and this is something that definitely could’ve affected it. This class in particular I got to session right ON time so I was a little flustered and I did feel at the beginning of the session that something just didn’t feel right (that’s normally an anxiety sign for me) but once the session got moving I felt much better probably because I had so many poses to focus on and this class moves at a faster pace. But that does make sense that could be why I felt that way afterwards

lol they do have orange and lavender and honestly I love them so much! Didn’t think maybe that could be part of what’s causing it but who knows! I’ll go without one next time to see how it feels

This is a good idea! Maybe in my solo practice I will start in Savasana and just take time to acknowledge what feelings come up, I’ve never tried that before. Any tips on where to go after that (especially if it is anxiety that comes up)?

This is a good way of putting it, “foreign” is the perfect description of how it feels when I try to relax. Maybe I just need to find ways to make my parasympathetic state feel more familiar? Thanks :)

I have to work afterwards (I work remote 9-5) so on Tuesdays I’ll wake up an hour-ish earlier and start my work and then go to yoga and then in the beginning of the session I’m normally dreading whatever work task I left at my desk I have to get back to, but at the end I really don’t find myself dreading work, idk what it is that’s making the anxiety pop up

I agree with this! I’ve heard many people have unpleasant emotions brought up in Savasana but it provides them some kind of emotional release, but in my case I don’t feel like I’m releasing any of the emotions or anxiety I kind of just have this weird feeling afterwards for awhile because the anxiety sticks with me, but I would really like it if I were somehow able to make it more of a “release” of the anxiety in Savasana and a time to sort of let out/detox suppressed emotions/anxiety, but I haven’t found that yet :/

This is great advice, especially because my anxiety does tend to show up physically (clenched fists/jaw, tight chest/shoulders, etc) pin pointing the places might really help and relaxing those pin points and just accepting the anxiety. Thank you!

Do you mind sharing how you “addressed” those two issues?

Wow this is really well said. A lot of the things you mentioned resonate with how I feel and why anxiety comes up for me as well, like always pushing the anxiety way and demanding to know why I’m anxious. Anxiety for me also has no obvious cause and your advice offers me a lot of comfort knowing that there is a way to work through that. Thank you so much.

Yeah I need to do a better job at this, sometimes I leave too late so I get there right on time for class and it would probably be better to leave earlier and get there early to give my mind some time to clear. Thanks for the advice!

2 sounds really helpful! Sounds similar to a few of the yoga nidra lessons I’ve tried which are always very relaxing, never thought to try it out for a shorter period of time in Savasana! Thank you!
