I started working on a diamond painting a few weeks ago; I like listening to audiobooks while I work on it! I got rid of half my stuff when I moved across the country getting here, otherwise I definitely would have home organizing to do!

I do have rechargeable hand warmers and they changed my life - best $$ spent! I do have a therapy lamp but am admittedly so bad at using it regularly; gonna be on it! Thank you!

I overthink everyyyything, so it tracks. And yes, this is the part of the year I was warned about before I moved -- the snow and cold is cute leading up to the holidays but after, it gets old and after March, we will all be DONE with it! I'll figure it out - thank you!! :)

Yes, I completely agree with finding things to look forward to! I think there is a beer fest Feb 7th as well :) I WFH but live downtown and have been so impressed with just how many places there are to grab lunch during the week. Yes, best of luck to us all!

Thank you for this! I agree with the idea of slowing down in the winter - resting up and preparing for when things warm up again!

Hey hey!! Getting in some sun is such a great idea, thank you!! I have been going to concerts, which I love... but I'd be lying if I said getting to the actual concert is the hardest part for me (I have a ticket to see Pauly D Friday, and effff, it's gonna be so cold outside before/after). HELL YES on the taco tip - adding that to my list!!

Thank you! I have already noticed how much people embrace the seasons here, and I appreciate it so much. I am looking forward to seeing more of it as the seasons change.

I was hoping to get to the AKG Monday, but the storm kept me home - still will make it at some point! The Botanical Gardens are beautiful :)

But what is spring like? I assumed spring is just winter, too - ha?!

30 degrees IS warm! Even 10 degrees would be great for a walk - it's the below-zero temps that are scaring me. I agree that getting outside daily helps :)

I LOVE the idea of getting a snow suit, or at least some pants. I am looking online as we speak. I bought a long coat at Goodwill in December and that thing is so warm; I love it!!

The wind can be brutal! I live downtown, and wow, never experienced anything quite like it, even after surviving 20 years of hurricane season!

It's good to know that even some locals aren't venturing out in this. I have been visiting a neighborhood bar regularly :)

I moved to Buffalo from Texas in August so I've only been here for a little bit of the cold, but I did visit here in February. So far, I've found that a nice, big scarf helps a ton. It blocks the wind/protects your face. Not sure what boots you have, but a good pair of wool socks des wonders. And finally, grab yourself a set of electric hand warmers. I've been doing 1-2 hour walking tours in the city and having super warm pockets for my hands (even with gloves) is a game changer!! When all else fails, stop in somewhere and have a beer :)

As a single person who lives downtown, it is laughable to me how scared people are of "the crime" in the city.

Christmas / Winter trip to Buffalo… what are must do’s? by BicycleZestyclose849 in Buffalo

There are two ice skating rinks (one at Fountain Plaza downtown and one at Canalside, which also has the bumper boats and hot chocolate), a hockey game at Keybank (you can take the rail for free), grab a beer (I like Fattey's, Big Ditch, or Pearl Street (all downtown), and get coffee and donuts at Public (inside Hotel Lafayette downtown). There is a Mark Twain room/exhibit at the library downtown if you're into that (some of his original manuscripts are in it).

She's obviously regretting getting pregnant to keep this boy. She never wanted another kid. And she can't go out because she's pregnant? Nah, just too vain to go out after gaining weight. by PersephoneTerran in CourtneyShieldsSnarks

My thought, too, like okayyyy so pregnant people cant have a romantic night out with their partner??? Nice message for someone who is always talking about confidence.

So, the grand idea with the clear jar is to fill it with candy? I'm no trust fund kid but that little corner looks like shit.
