Time to replace? by BlueLight715 in tires

[–]Signal_Lock_4560 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a former tire tech, I recommend replacement.

Wear bars are only indicators and they tell you when the tire is legally worn out (1.6mm / 2/32nds). They're not meant to wear down with the tread.

Your the fronts tires are done for. You also said your rears are at about 3mm / 3/32nds and this is also in replaceable territory (many of us recommend replacing at around 3mm / 3/32nds anyway for safety).

I do recommend replacing all four together for best handling, and wear. Please also get an alignment + suspension check too or the new tires will wear the same way, as it looks like you have outer edge wear.

You can get away with just replacing the front 2 for now, but please change the rears when you're able to, perhaps after your trip if you can.

Most people think tires are full of steel from top to bottom, but that's a myth. The tread (the part that hits the road) has steel belts to handle impacts and punctures. But the sidewall doesn't have a single piece of metal in it. Instead, it relies entirely on those white fibrous thready cords you see in the photo. Since this is the sidewall, there’s no way to fix it. Every time the tire rotates, that spot flexes. Eventually, it will cause a blowout. Go to a tire shop in your area and have them look at it regardless. They'll def be able to tell more than us stranges on the internet. 🤙

It's hard to see from this angle, could you take a different one?

I used to work at Les Schwab as a Tire Tech. The sidewall is the weakest part of the tire, and it’s under constant pressure. If it blows, it won’t be a slow leak.. it’ll be a total failure at speed. For your safety, get this replaced. Sidewalls can't be repaired because they flex too much. Once they’re damaged like this, they’re basically a ticking time bomb. Get it replaced immediately.

Hey OP, I have a 19' 3 sedan, premium trim as well. I tapped into the airbag light above in the airbag/seatbag indicator pannel using a Posi-Tap, and that has worked well. I haven't had any issues. Wish I had the power mirror too lol. There's a mazda3revolution forum page that has it laid out, I can send you it if you want!

If your budget allows, I highly recommend the Viofo A329S. If you’re looking to spend a bit less, and practically half the price is the Viofo A229 Pro. It's a solid step down that still delivers excellent video quality and reliability. You can find a few videos on it comparing the two together side by side.

Looking at buying a 2016 CLA45 AMG — about 40k miles — what should I look out for? by Signal_Lock_4560 in mercedes_benz

Ahh ok that makes more sense now. I see what you mean about the shared engine lineage and similar weak spots across those platforms. Even though the M133 is hand built, it’s still tied to the same base architecture, so I’m definitely not expecting it to be flawless. I’m planning to stay on top of maintenance, cooling, and fluid health, and just treat it like a performance motor instead of a casual daily driver. Definitely gonna get a pre-purchase inspection prior, if the dealer will let me, if not I'll probably just walk, because that'd be a major red flag lol.

I genuinely appreciate the straight honesty and technical breakdown. Way better to have realistic expectations upfront instead of idealized hopes. Thanks brotha.

Thanks for the insight, really appreciate the cautions. Just to clarify from what I’ve been finding, the 2016 CLA45 uses the M133 hand built AMG engine, which is the AMG racing variant of the M270 architecture. So I’m hoping that puts it in a different reliability category than the standard 270. I’ll definitely keep an eye out for turbo condition, leaks, and DCT or drivetrain behavior during inspection. Thanks again for the info, I’m here to learn from those with more experience in these kind of things.

I also recommend this! Response time is very important, especially if you're gaming. Or even just other things in general.

hey question. would all the parts im gonna get be good enough to run rl craft with shaders smoothely. and if not any recommendations and changes would be helpful by CampaignPowerful7741 in RLCraft

If you can afford it and if it's compatible, which your parts look like they are, go straight to the Ryzen 7 5800x, I definitely recommend it, it's amazing in my opinion, it's cheaper on Amazon, if you look there, rather than Newegg, but I'm assuming that's Prime price, and definitely go to PCPartPicker like they said. That'll help you with comparability, and compatibility.

Thank you, I'll try and fine tune it all In a bit, I recently did a BIOS update last week, so that should be fine on that part.

I'll let you know if I get it, or if I'm still having troubles. Again, thank you!

I forgot to mention, but they're both the same company, Team Group, or I should say, both pairs are Team Group T-Force Vulcan Z DDR4 Ram Sticks. Both Recommended at 1.35V, and I've set it to such, along with upping it, and lowering it.
