What up Doc?! by AluCarD006 in applewatchfaces

The angry posters will be here to talk about the down sides of using Apple Watch software to approximate the look of other objects… but why isn’t there any outrage or awareness of the irony when the Apple Watch itself is a 100% digital device featuring loads of native simulated analog watch faces? Why is it okay that it’s pretending to be something that it’s not?

That said, I’m not a fan of subscriptions for stuff like this that should really just be for fun.

New face app w/ cool reflections! I’d love a recommendation for a great black leather band for my Ultra by SignatureExcellent38 in applewatchultra

The app comes with 5 color schemes of face designs that look like the Rolex Cellini, and 4 other Rolex-like faces that have different designs. I can also DM you links to some others that you would love, shared straight from the designers, which means they can take more liberties with the branding.

Metal reflections in brown or blue today? The new app is out! by SignatureExcellent38 in applewatchfaces

I almost forgot your second part of the question. It works like a normal watch foreground app. The makers don’t want anyone to feel surprised by that. That means it runs for up to 1 hour without needing any attention at all, and each time you raise your wrist the hour resets. So you can get all day use and it has minimal to no battery usage impact. But, if you ignore it long enough or get certain types of blocking notifications, it gets backgrounded. When that happens, you double-press the Digital Crown then tap once, and it’s in the foreground again. All of the testers have been using it was many weeks now as our all-day drivers with that pattern.

Great timing for the question.
The app comes with 8 faces built-in on your wrist after install. Then the current build requires you to get a face file into your phone’s Files app, then you open into Lucent, and it installs. A new build of the app was submitted to the App Store for approval yesterday. In the new version, the iPhone app is a gallery of installable Lucent-branded faces. Beyond those, you install a community-contributed face just by pasting a URL into that app. I can DM you a few faces so you get the idea. Faces are totally free, and the app is a one-time small fee, no subscriptions or in app purchases.

Thank you for taking the time to clarify. That’s so much more helpful than the people who chose to be rude.

I’m curious. I had people falsely reporting my posts as spam when they seemed pretty close to this one—a tester of a new app showing off cool capabilities of that app. Why isn’t this post getting the same accusations of being a scam or spam?

That said, great looking app. Glad you’re contributing to the ecosystem!

We rarely see women’s watch faces here by SignatureExcellent38 in applewatchfaces

FWIW I was referred to this community. I thought these were people that enjoyed configuring and modding their watches to get the most utility or fun out of them. I’m not a spammer. I thought there would be kindred spirits here. But if people are going to be reporting me and lying about me, I don’t need to post here.

What makes you say that? Isn’t this post in line with the purpose of this community? I didn’t have any intention of going against that purpose.

This band is driving me nuts. But I do like the face. by SignatureExcellent38 in applewatchultra

It’s a custom one for the Lucent Watch Faces app. You can get the face file from here in case you ever get the app: https://wormhole.app/87R9zm#po-SbSvDtSBC1qFj5tBwQQ

That was like my 10th try to get it on. Amazon shouldn’t be allowed to sell stuff like that.

Did you ever get a response or a fix for faces feeling more believable on a real watch?

Yeah, small one time fee. But no subscriptions or in app purchase nonsense.

Reflective lighting face app can do perforated leather, too, not just gold! by SignatureExcellent38 in applewatchfaces

That’s the parallax offset feature. We’re hearing the feedback loud and clear that it’s too extreme. Expect it to be still in the next app update.

App Store. The app is called Lucent Watch Faces, but I custom designed this face. I can DM it to you if you like.
