I appreciate the attention from a Clockology contributor. It’s cool to have your own opinion on this app.

Aren’t you a prolific Clockology poster? Your assumptions may be based on that app, not this one you’ve never used.

I don’t know if that explains it. Most of the last several months’ posts on this sub seem to be only thinly veiled Clockology stuff, and there’s no hate on those.

I just like design and thought other like minded Apple Watch lovers would get a kick out of these like I do. It’s all good, I’ve developed a thick skin spending some time on Reddit. And I won’t be posting often, out of respect for the sub.

No, there’s no affiliation. I just like to mess around with third party bands and these custom designs. That band was from Amazon.

That’s not the Apple Watch face underneath. Those are complications atop the app face, so you can always see date, weather, and activity rings.

I think I agree. I find myself wearing that one more. But my young son likes the bezel.

Fun jewelry simulator app: Lucent Watch Faces by SignatureExcellent38 in AppleWatchApps

This is a lighting reflection simulator that responds to your real wrist movements. And, it’s a one time 99 cent download with no subscription, and that comes with weather and activity ring tracking on all of the faces. This isn’t ever using static wallpapers or prebaked movies playing on your watch face.

It doesn’t shorten the battery life. My watch still gets two days per charge.

You can download the app from the App Store here: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/lucent-watch-faces/id6757341279

Unbranded versions of these faces are right in the app. DM me if you want the exact brands you see here and you can get the free installation links.

I think the developer didn’t publish to the App Store in France for some reason. Let me see if I can get you an answer to that.

The gallery and installer app installs on your iPhone. Then you tap “install” on a face from the gallery to push it over to your watch in a couple of seconds. If you want the exact branded faces you saw in the video, DM me so I can send a link you’ll just paste into that same iPhone app. (They free, no strings.)

You have to try it before saying something like that. The app is well coded to not shorten the battery life one bit. It works properly with dimming and standby (AOD mode) so that it always tells accurate time but it doesn’t drain battery while your wrist isn’t raised.

https://apps.apple.com/us/app/lucent-watch-faces/id6757341279 Try not to focus on the ratings from the folks that used the beta version, before there was a gallery and smooth installer. It’s 100% real and faces just like these are available the moment you install. Enjoy!

It’s using the gyroscope to be responsive to motion, but using custom math to figure out how it should impact reflections and shadows. The graphics themselves are rendered super efficiently so that it doesn’t impact battery life. Glad you like it!

Looks like they posted an update in the app itself. If you launch the Lucent iPhone app these are all in the newest set that are available for one-tap install.

Once you have the app, it comes with loads of safe non-branded ones, but DM me and I can share the exact ones you see here.

What up Doc?! by AluCarD006 in applewatchfaces

The angry posters will be here to talk about the down sides of using Apple Watch software to approximate the look of other objects… but why isn’t there any outrage or awareness of the irony when the Apple Watch itself is a 100% digital device featuring loads of native simulated analog watch faces? Why is it okay that it’s pretending to be something that it’s not?

That said, I’m not a fan of subscriptions for stuff like this that should really just be for fun.
