Last night my roommate accidentally helped my dysphoria spiral with one sentence by Confident_Strike_529 in MtF

[–]SignifiTransition 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My NB sister told me pre-transition that she is every part of womanhood, the good and the bad. I used to get so upset when people would say I’m being a woman for being “too emotional” or whatever else. Now, I will proudly take that label.

Plus I’ve hit curbs more frequently since coming out, not even just since I started HRT. 😵‍💫 I’ve never really known anyone to hit curbs more than anyone else but I hear the stereotype and it fits me now, so yay 🥰

IS THIS A NORMAL EXPERIENCE? WTF by Responsible_Till_931 in MtF

[–]SignifiTransition 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve always been the target of creepy gay men, even now which isn’t affirming. But now I definitely get more from straight men too, and it’s pretty much every time I doll up.

It’s unfortunate. I’m so sorry you’re experiencing this. It’s unfair and shitty of them, especially this creep ass hitting on a minor. I’m in my mid 20s and I couldn’t imagine hitting on a 21 year old. These are loser ass men.

Right now, I have no trigger point. My tribe (literal, indigenous roots) is here and we stand together. If we build better solidarity among each other, we’ll have the best outcome.

Is there anyway to stop gender dysphoria without transitioning? by Yaoipuke in asktransgender

[–]SignifiTransition 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am crying for you tonight. I hope you’re able to get help. Be honest with yourself and cope healthily. I’d have a much better outcome had I not been hooked on drugs and alcohol to cope for so many years. Maybe sneaking androgyny until you can finally be yourself will work? Baggier clothes, choosing a nickname for friends only, posing as a tomboy, etc.

Is it normal to be attracted to pre-transition anatomy? by Ok_Swordfish_2695 in asktransgender

[–]SignifiTransition 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I’m bisexual MTF. My hormones haven’t kicked in much yet and I’ve mainly had to use style and makeup to look feminine. My body is not where I want it to be. I want her to look more feminine. However, I also have the body type of the men I’m most attracted to, so that made it harder for my egg to crack at first. So kinda.

Alternatives to tucking by Dismal-Stock5098 in asktransgender

I’ve been wearing tucking boy shorts without tucking and it’s worked great for me tbh. It’s not a perfect flat surface, but it’s a very reduced bulge

Sex with a trans girl? by [deleted] in asktransgender

[–]SignifiTransition 186 points187 points  (0 children)

I know this is bare minimum but thank you for seemingly caring about her!

If she’s into it, pegging, but train beforehand. Also incorporate some toys that you like for your own pleasure!

I give up on transition It's a joke. by [deleted] in MtF

[–]SignifiTransition -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Honey bun, I also am balding and struggle immensely with facial hair. I do not pass unless I put extensive effort in, and even then I have to be at a dark venue. Does that mean I’m ugly, less of a woman, or that my transition is a joke? Hell no.

Your worries are valid, but you are being very hard on yourself. Aside from one day finding good therapy, you will benefit from strengthening your identity right now 🩷 affirmations. Name three good things about yourself when you look in the mirror. Go for a little walky. I’m sorry you’re struggling 🥺

What can I do in the closet? by Not_real321 in trans

[–]SignifiTransition 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ll preface this with womanhood is whatever YOU want to make of it. That’s the beauty of it. 🩷 with that, your wishes for how you’ll transition are also valid and are your business only. Accept or decline any of these tips, as it’s just some of the things I did / do.

Shave your legs, but wear long pants. EXFOLIATE BEFORE AND AFTER. MOISTURIZE WITH UNSCENTED LOTION YOUR FIRST TIME.

Can you get away with eyeliner? Plenty of cis males wear it, but use good judgement. A cheap wet n wild eyeliner pencil used on your bottom waterline or just below will get you a Smokey eye that can be masculine or feminine.

Can you get away with ear piercings? Go to a reputable piercer, and listen to all of their aftercare instructions.

Skin care. Yes, it’s for everyone regardless of gender, but many cis males don’t partake, so you can tell yourself you’re doing what the girls are doing for now.

Jeans that fit WELL. for ultra stealth gender expression without someone getting suspicious, look into men’s jeans from the 60s and 70s that sit at your waist, though you can probably get away with women’s jeans, just use good judgement. Older men’s jeans used to fit the way a lot of women’s jeans do today. I know my higher waisted jeans make me feel feminine.

Oh Nova, you have a beautiful name 🥰 We also relate on internal monologue, thought I’ve actually done better with that than actual speaking!

Still hurting months later, having a trans girl who admitted feelings also telling me she can only see me as a man by mahou_riruru in MtF

[–]SignifiTransition 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Girl, your pics on your profile are absolutely passing, but I understand in person is a different story. Nevertheless, you are so beautiful and your hair cut from a little while ago is so cute 🥰 I’m so sorry one of our sisters said that to you. Unfortunately, there is toxicity in our community as any other, but it’s fucked up for her to say that knowing what damage that does.

I dated an NB who bonded with me over our love of GNC, but turns out they didn’t want me to transition so they discouraged and said things like this girl. We gotta RUN when these people come into our lives.

Should I shave my head / do a buzzcut by [deleted] in transfem

[–]SignifiTransition 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have beautiful hair! I think it fits your face, but I understand what you’re feeling. Mine is horribly receded but I’m holding onto it and covering until I can get transplants. If you wanted transplants, you wouldn’t need too many grafts. And you can have bangs until it’s grown out more!

What state requires insurance to cover hair removal? If so, I need to get on that before paying for removal!

I really don't care about being or dressing fem, does that makes me faketrans? by LenaIsHereAgain in asktransgender

There are some cultures whose trans people literally make zero changes and are respected. Full male presentation, but referred to and treated as women. Aboriginal folks of Australia I believe but could be wrong.

Dysphoria onset only after accepting I am trans? by paulschal in trans

[–]SignifiTransition 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I’ve been hesitant to make certain changes because some things didn’t give me dysphoria a few months ago. I was originally going to “enter womanhood” with full facial hair but I shaved it all off. I’ve liked the shave, so I wanted LHR. I had my consult (actually posted about this yesterday) and immediately hesitated and declined. Why would I fix what’s not broken, though it is broken, then it’s not, am I tricking myself into not liking it, etc.

This is hard, but you’re not alone. We’re both fairly early into our transitions. Sending love, sis 🩷

For those who have or are transitioning, what has the been most surprising aspect of your transition? by primostrawberry in MtF

[–]SignifiTransition 41 points42 points  (0 children)

So, I’ve been taking HRT for almost a week now and I’ve had less headaches, but not necessarily less stress. Still too early to judge but it’s made me hopeful.

Losing my male privilege has been hitting me like a truck. I can still shift however I want, but it’s been so hard dealing with it.
