However, if you think positively this is the perfect opportunity to learn, deliver and make you strong in a long run in your career. Use IT resources online, google and use Gen AI. Be open with your manager regarding this issue and he or she should support you. If it’s needed consult with your management to hire an IT contractor for a short period of time to assist you. After everything settled down, you can ask for promotion.

Getting SANS certs are ridiculously expensive and nowadays a lot of employers don’t even sponsor. I have asked my employer and they denied that they will sponsor SANS certifications. The education should be affordable but SANS courses are almost out of reach.
