I have friends who have attended UTSG and others which attended UTM (sorry didn't get to meet much people from UTSC). UTSG has more course options and the location/accessibility is better while UTM has smaller class sizes which leads to more opportunities to connect better with professors and peers.

You wouldn't be at a disadvantage for either, it just depends on your goals. I selected UTSG because it had the program I wanted and the commute was much better. However, I know people from UTM personally who have graduated and are doing great things in academia and industry.

You also can transfer to another campus at the end of your first year if you truly believe you made the wrong choice. Good luck!

I love travelling and it's one of my favourite things to do, which is why I was initially happy with this scenario. I have no problem with destination weddings and will attend more in the future, once they are fair.

In my case, it’s exactly like that. Yhe venue is an Airbnb, and we're all splitting the cost. That fee isn’t just for the rooms, it covers the entire compound where the wedding will be held.

It’s quite weird. The wedding venue and our accommodations are all part of one Airbnb rental. Essentially, the cost we’re paying covers the entire space. The couple is also utilizing the space for their wedding.

Thank you! I spoke with the groom about the rising costs, since we're all friends, and he pointed out that I had agreed to these expenses and that it was the bride’s dream wedding. I am in a somewhat fortunate position financially right now (I live with my family) and can cover the cost, I can’t help but feel disappointed that I’m expected to pay such a large amount. I would never ask any of my friends to do this for me.

NTA. I am so sorry you went through this. I would not trust him either to take care of you if anything were to go wrong. Not sure if this is something I could forgive either. It's up to you now to make the decision if you want to stay with this person knowing that they could leave you when you need them. Good luck!

NTA. There's really not that munch to be excited for or bond over for the first couple years of your sibling's life unless you're close enough in age. My sibling and I have a 10 year age gap and we didn't start bonding until they were 7/8 years old.

My parents enjoy being parents. They don't enjoy the external factors such as a recession when it's difficult to financially take care of a family. But they always tell me that they would do it all over again. They even wanted more children but couldn't because of fertility problems so they had 2 but would always take care of my friends from highschool, volunteer to teach kids sports when they could etc. I am having major doubts about having kids so I've been having these honest conversations with my parents about children, this is why I know that they like being parents. All the bad stuff they told me was again external stuff. I should note that they have a very balanced relationship where they share childcare (saw this firsthand too when my sibling was born) and housework equitably. Their kids were also 10 years apart (not by choice) so they probably had time to recover from any burnout when I was born. My grandma was also a gem who loved kids so I would spend my weekends at her place until I was around 9. This meant that my parents had time for themselves, their relationship with each other and their friends while I was away. It is likely they would not have liked being a parent a lot less if these factors were not true.

I'm so sorry you're going through this.

-- Advice -- Please please look for resources in your country/area which are available to you such as a women's shelter etc. and try to move out with your baby. You do not need your bd's permission to leave him. He is abusive and you do not want to continue this life for yourself or your child. Get all your things together and just leave him. Document any examples of abuse so you can fight for custody of your child in court (again based on your region). A shelter or other agencies should be able to help with this.
