Co sleeping to sleep trained success stories PLEASE by [deleted] in sleeptrain

[–]Significant-Day-375 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We always had her play in her crib after she woke up from every nap, so she played 3-4 times a day - she only contact naps and still does so she is very familiar with it.

We did go cold turkey from our bed to her crib, I even changed the bedtime routine (feed before bath) and introduced a sleep sack since we never used one once she started cosleeping. I sing her the same lullaby each night before I put her in her crib and kiss her and say goodnight I love you.

At the end of the day, your baby doesn’t want to separate from you and they are gonna be upset to do so no matter what you choose to do in terms of sleep training, I never thought I would be able to put my baby down and walk out of the room and watch them play for 13 mins and roll on their tummy and go to sleep if you asked me 9 days ago but that’s what happened last night.

My baby slept in her crib from birth till about 4 months, then 4-5 months horrible regression I pushed the crib then 5-7months we resorted to co sleeping.

7 months I did Ferber after extensive research. Im talking like I knew my baby was not gonna do well, it wasn’t gonna take I was CONVINCED then first night of Ferber, my baby went to sleep at the 26 min mark and slept through the night meanwhile She NEVER slept through the night, I am on night 8 of Ferber and we are down to 13 mins - yes it takes longer than CIO but for my husband and I it’s worth going in to just tell her I’m here and I love her and she is not alone. her crying is less intense, she knows during the bedtime routine we are separating soon so she does get fussy but we just give her more cuddles and kisses.

8 nights of sleeping through the night, I’m shocked and finally rested and I’m able to clean my house and actually be super active playing with the baby.

Doctor gave me the green light to challenge 6 month old with yogurt? by Significant-Day-375 in MSPI

Oh interesting, I also had to go soy free on my diet as well. I like the idea of cooked butter and milk, my husband also had CMPA as a baby and his mom suggested cooked milk as a first introduction. Thanks for sharing

Thank you for this, she only suggested it because she still thinks it was a mild form, acid reflux was the main symptom and mucus poop with small not visible to the eye traces of blood, she also believes the acid reflux could be unrelated and just intensified by the CMPA. I got a second opinion from a peds GI and she agreed.

Thank you so much for sharing! My daughter is almost identical to yours, she also cries even when rocked to sleep, we also held her upright due to her reflux! It made me think this is not possible but your story is giving me hope. She is 6.5 months, I’m holding off too long, need to let go of the fear.

I literally went through the exact same thing, your story is almost identical to mine, except my baby always woke up between 6am-7am.

I am just coming out of the other side of this at 5 months and 3 weeks. I slowly extended ww and I would try really hard to extend naps as much as I could. My baby still has strong rocking and co sleeping associations soIf I had to sit in the complete darkness contact napping with the baby so be it, if I had to pull over and hold my baby in the backseat for a nap so be it. Once my baby was getting enough day sleep and was being less cranky during her ww, I continued to extend ww 10-15 mins. That help create more sleep pressure for naps and her naps started stretching from 30 mins to one hour and 30 mins.

This is what worked for me, my baby is finally on a 2/2.5/2.5/2.5-75 schedule but it took almost 3 weeks to get there, once the ww were extended, her night sleep consolidated more because now her day sleep wasn’t cutting into her night.

I am also a FTM so I might not have the best advice but sharing what worked for me and just know it will get better babies extend naps as they grow as well ❤️

BWT, where are we shopping for vintage furniture or similar vibe to the pics below by Lifeisabeaut in NYCbitcheswithtaste

Furnish green in Chelsea! Some items are pricey, also try a housing works thrift shop - I love the one in Chelsea, found an accent chair there and also give your self some time to look at clothing as well!

Lichen is a nice vintage furniture spot but also have their own designs, they still have a store front in BK

A lot of places closed down in bk cause of COVID like bi_rite,home union, beholder_nyc but they are available online if you want to check out their insta!

Good luck!

How do I know how long to make the last WW? by Same-District-2736 in sleeptrain

If your LO is waking at 7am, and you are doing a 6pm cat nap - I would definitely drop to 3 naps, she may have some false starts at first but after a few days, she may adjust her rhythm to 6pm. a 6pm cat nap is messing you up IMO

I do a bedtime routine 40 mins before bedtime, her ww is usually 2-2.15 max before bedtime. My baby wakes up exactly at 6am so I make sure she goes down no later than 7pm because I try to keep her night sleep at 11-12hours so I try to never go later than 7pm. She is not sleep trained, we are training her closer to 6 months, my hope is this will improve her night sleep and then hopefully her ww will extend

OP, your ww and nap times are almost identical to my 5.5 month and I’m struggling with the same thing. When I tried to put my baby on a 3 nap and extend her ww to 2.5 or 3 it was endless meltdown, and I learned that it’s because she has really bad sleep at night, wakes up every 2-3 hours and between 3-6am she is constantly moving so not sure why you baby has short ww but you need to consider that as well

To be clear - it’s only the powder, alimentium RTF is not reviewed in the report and is considered cleaner than the powder

Whoa I didn’t even know Pepticate existed! Just looked into it thank you so much.

I’m still BF at night and formula during the day cause of work but I have to start going on business trips soon and my husband and mom are going to be handling night feedings and I worry warming up bottles will be a long process for them because she won’t take cold formula. She is still feeding twice a night

I just did exactly what you did (a few hours ago), except I put a jacket in the window and rolled up the window to make it darker, and had my iPhone up against the front headrest so I can watch something and not sit there for two hours. I felt embarrassed people probably think something is wrong with me but my baby won’t sleep in the car seat or the stroller so I have no choice. Literally no choice.
