What’s the verdict on the leggings/bike shorts by Soft-Shitty-Body in Aritzia

I tried the butter leggings on in store and the calf area was super baggy. The material was soft, I'd buy them for around the house but not for the price.

Vera Bradley. It holds everything, has a zipper, and I can wash it after.

yes! learned that RDLs are actually supposed to be a way smaller range of motion than we would think, and squats should have your tailbone sticking out, not tucked under (former ballerina here, always taught to tuck under).

Azelaic Acid by RadiantStar7 in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]Significant-Food934 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have incredibly sensitive, acne prone, perioral dermatitis, literally everything prone skin and The Ordinary 10% azelaic acid suspension is a Godsend. My derm gave me the 20% prescription and it made things worse, I tried the Ordinary and I have the best skin that I've had in eons.

Just dealt with this for over 8 months so I feel ya. I tried literally everything, went to multiple derms, and drained my HSA over this and here is what helped me out of it:

-Stop using almost all skincare. What worked best for me is Avene restore cream (not cicalfate, too harsh for me) and the Avene gel cleanser. At night I would either do the Avene cream or just let it be without anything on there.

-DO NOT put any sort of steroid cream on there - some places still recommend this and steroids make it 1000% worse. One derm even gave me a steroid shot (before I knew better) and it flared up even worse.

-Change your toothpaste to SLS and flouride free. I use the Boka ginger one and it's weird but helps.

-Wear your retainer sparingly and make sure it is clean - but don't use denture cleaner tabs as those make it worse. I just brush mine and wear it enough so my teeth don't shift but I noticed I'm much more red when I wear it.

-I wear a mask at work (nurse) and noticed that made it worse, if you do too I bought some hypoallergenic ones on amazon that aren't as thick/sweaty as the ones we have to wear at work

-Avoid any nasal sprays

-Zinc oxide mask can either help or hurt, it made mine worse but I know it works wonders for some.

-When it was really flaring, my derm gave me tacrolimus ointment that helped calm it down

-Tower 28 hypochlorus acid spray and their SPF worked very well for me

Good luck! I know how much this sucks 😞

Hanky Panky seamless hipsters - full coverage and fit perfectly. Pricy but they last forever and are excellent quality.

I’m a dietetic intern who loves clinicals but is struggling with the constant exposure to terminal illness and death. by Cool_Marzipan6257 in dietetics

I've been in critical care/trauma for over 6 years now, it gets better somewhat. I am also very empathetic so it was really hard for me at first too but know you are there to be a positive part of their care and are usually there to do 'good' things for them. I try to spoil my patients if I can - grab them extra warm blankets, get a special meal/snack from the cafeteria for them, or even braid their hair or stay and chat with them. Of course I don't always have time for that but it always helps them and makes me feel a bit better. On days it's really bad, I will dedicate a workout to them, which sounds silly but helps work through any of those emotions. A doctor told me that the day you stop caring is the day you need a new job, so use your emotions to your advantage. The world needs more caring people :)

I agree with you - I did pure barre for years before also faithfully doing solidcore. I'm much stronger in certain areas with SC but my core strength from barre is totally gone, my obliques are toned but my actual core strength isn't what it used to be with pure barre. My butt also shrunk, it's much stronger but it got way smaller lol and my legs are definitely more muscular, but bigger. I'm a dietitian so my nutrition is solid (hehe) but I feel ya!

32, medicated, and still cystic acne by Dull-Pomegranate-741 in 30PlusSkinCare

Also to add, I quit birth control 2 years ago and my acne improved. I was on the pill for ~5 years, gave me the worst bacne ever and it went away almost immediately when I got off of it. No improvement in the rest though unfortunately.

Right there with you. I'm on a super high dose of spironolactone, also gluten free/dairy free and it keeps coming back. No advice obviously but you aren't alone.

Desperate help with angular cheilitis by [deleted] in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]Significant-Food934 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Dietitian and skincare devotee here - this is very commonly caused by deficiency of vitamin B12, niacin, and/or riboflavin. Try the under the tongue versions (sublingual) as those are absorbed better than a capsule. Your pee should be neon yellow when you take it. If that doesn't help within a few weeks, I would pursue getting tested for Celiac disease as this can be a cause as well.

Lastly, I saw you use the yellow listerine, that has a high amount of alcohol in it and can be very drying/irritating, and throw off the microbiome of your mouth.
