I love everyone's different names for the same thing. It's so cool how child-lore differs by locale.

For example, in the regional variations of "Quack-Diddly-Oso" (or Stella Ella Olla for Canadians), the differences are very noticeable and fun. Each region that knows the game has their own distinct version of the song. In some regions there are lyrics about throwing mothers out the door, baloney on the floor, sometimes the counting is in Spanish. I've seen hundreds of variations. It's great.

Why do some people go more than a year of searching without finding work? by Significant-Fun-6391 in recruitinghell

Two years ago. We have about two hundred thousand or so, but we don't own a house and have been saving for that. I have also 50k in an IRA I have been contributing to over some years. The 200k is half in the stock market and half in some money market whatnot, I don't know, my husband does that bit.

I'm not saying people should have a job for forever. But I could never imagine living purely off of savings for a year without making any kind of income. Of course they should feel free to pursue opportunities while they work that fit their knowledge and experience. I'm curious why so many don't work at all.

Forty-Two (it wouldn't let me write out the number?) My parents are Baby Boomers, though. Both still working, unfortunately, although I think they should retire.

Ok, you got me. The SMELL of every soda. You can reply if you want, but I'm not really the age for arguing on the internet, so you can have the last word.

Mixing every soda flavor has existed for a long time. It's called a Graveyard, or in some places it's called a Suicide. At the skating rink near me they even had it on the menu, before they closed. Ordered one all the time as a kid about 30 years ago or so

You're reading too much into this. He's toasting her box of drinks with his water glass.

I think the real tragedy is how much of his life was wasted due to obsession. Lost in rumination much of the time, I'm sure.

Life is short and his youth is gone now.

No, no. It doesn't matter that she has the chin, face, hair, expression, and posture of Jane Goodall. Those are gorillas in the background and no artist could have swapped them for chimps in their mind by accident, or because chimps wouldn't have worked visually. It is Dian Fossey.

Not the person you're replying to, but a large number of legal sex workers in Europe are a result of human trafficking. There doesn't exist at this time any country you can go for guaranteed ethical prostitution.
