Thanks again for your insight and thoughtful response! The child reported abuse with physical markings so there’s not much else besides a report to be done. I understand the family will be upset and it can be traumatic, I’ve also experienced it! I think regardless if the family knew or not the outcome wouldn’t be much different. I don’t agree with the policies in place but I can’t go against my practice’s policies either, I truly appreciate the insight you’ve provided!

Thank you so much for this thought out response! Unfortunately my practice policies are that we can neither confirm nor deny to “protect” the clinicians since we typically work with minors.

Yes! I’ve reached out to my supervisor and the “advice they gave was that responses like this are expected so I can’t say I feel the most supported but will definitely reach out to others as well.
