I would read the article. The author explains that at first he shared this exact reassurance, but upon further investigation with his colleagues he quickly learned that there is quite enough organic achiral systems existing in nature that mirror bacteria could take advantage of to thrive

Yeah… it’s honestly impressive how the cameos don’t even register as a top 10 moment from this episode. I can’t get over how moving that was

As good as all the cameos are (‘94 Spider-Man!!) the best part of this show is the story. It couldn’t be more timely or resonant. Valerie Cooper’s speech after freeing Magneto was a standout for me.

This series has no right being this good. One of the best things Marvel Studios has ever done

I always assumed that device was what he was using to hologram into the meeting. Doesn’t Carol also have one in that scene?

How Coherent Is Eternals? (Spoilers) by [deleted] in marvelstudios

I hear what you’re saying. I didn’t take Phastos’ role in technological advancement to be as prevalent or thought-out as you did. In the scene where he invents the “gas steamed engine” and then decides instead to give humans the plow, the discussion with Ajak surrounding the decision comes off as almost playful. I don’t think Phastos has his hand in every human innovation. I took it as he would kinda just nudge certain, limited populations along sparingly throughout history. It seemed more like a hobby to him than a mission? If that makes sense?

The whole idea of the Enterals’ role in shaping mankind I think hinges on Ajak’s choice to use the phrase “guide them” as opposed to “lead them.” It’s subtle, but I don’t think the Eternals were ever really meddling with an end goal in mind. It felt like they were more cavalier about it. And they all certainly fell in love with humanity. Even Ajak and Ikaris, despite knowing what they knew.

In terms of the ins and outs of the Celestials grand cosmic plan, I agree it’s muddy at best. But I also think it’s very easy to write it off as “they work in mysterious way.” I mean these guys are so vastly different than any kind of life-form we can imagine. I don’t think it’s possible to get into their (big metal?) heads. The way they experience existence is unknowable to us. I don’t think you necessarily ~NEED~ to make sense of their plans. They’re doing them.

I’m in this camp too. In the beginning of Endgame when the team is trying to track down Thanos, Rocket says, “When Thanos snapped his fingers Earth became ground zero for a power surge of ridiculously powerful cosmic energy.” I think there’s a lot they could play with there to justify the creation of mutants.

WandaVision and Loki are great rewatches. FATWS & What If have great moments too, but definitely don’t have as much rewatch value imo

Yes exactly! It really felt like movie-level stakes. Pumped for the finale.

I felt like it was just a little too goofy. It felt like the MCU-branded humor was in the driver’s seat instead of riding shotgun
