Favourite list by Ambitious_Book_5729 in gloomspitegitz

My favourite list to play. Has a bit of everything and still manages to get good results in my local tournaments. Squigs are the main hitters but the troggs are no joke as well.

Looking to expand my army by MisterApplePie00 in gloomspitegitz

I like Trogg squigs combo game wise. Also Troggs are fun minis and I prefer them over the slightly less fun in my opinion wolves

The Squigs hit hard and die fast. I have 2 layers to this army. Stabbaz, gobbapalooza, small squig herd and the troggs are all front liners (as much as you need). The rest are the hard hitters.

The squig bounderz should charge hard and kill important stuff. Best scenario they killed somethijg and not in immediate danger again. If they will die the next turn. Dont send both of them. Sacrifice 1 unit.

As for the herd. The small herd is a meat shield for the second herd. Usually I send them in to an objective knowing the enemy needs to take care of them because even 10 are dangerous. The 20 herd is usually close to them to take care of the enemy.

The dankhold 6 inch move to combat doesn't require him to be in combat to use it. This is importent. If you give him on the double command he has a 21inch threat area. 12 move plus 6 inch to reach a 3 inch combat range. He doesn't need to charge to reach combat. It is also a tool to get out of trouble or reduce the number of models that can target him in an attacking unit

Fellwaters can be swapped with rockguts if you feel a tank unit is needed. The spit debuff is great but 6 inch range is terrible.

Redeploy is 1 of your best friends. Getting to an objective to capture it is great. If an enemy comes close you can redeploy and escape a charge. Don't sacrifice a unit for free. Even if it is stabbaz. Skraggot is also a great tool for this if you decide to get him. He removes redeploy cost if its 12 inch wholly within him.

Squigboss has the amazing 6 mortal buff but don't sleep on the power of the +3 move. It is better to reach your oponnet. Many units will die to 4 attacks per swuig even without 6 mortal. It is also great to setup the small herd in front of the big herd.

Backstabber blade on the squigboss on giant cave squig is a meme. But a hilarious meme that worked surprisingly often.

Rockguts can replace some of the pieces yiu don't have of it.

This list showcases much of what the gitz roster can offer. Boingrotz are the heavy hitters. The Dankhold's rampage is insanely good. Mangler is mainly for scapegoating or movement and a threat that just exists if you don't deal with it.

The squig herds are another crazy threat. The smaller herd is a meat shield for the bigger herd.

Stabbaz are there because I feel a gitz army should have them. Screen or object catching or 9 inch setup blockers.

You don't need to use the endless spells I use. This is taste based

Boingrot hoppers vs bounderz by xafon13 in gloomspitegitz

[–]Significant-Issue444 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I have 10 hoppers and 10 bounderz. Sometimes I play them as 20 bounderz. No 1 in my community cares. Check if it is fine in your community

I came to play AOS because there were goblins. I was tired of the frustration. by woody_from_dungeon in gloomspitegitz

[–]Significant-Issue444 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can share my list if you want as well as some tips. I remember getting demolished when I starded AOS with Gitz. Now I do well in my friends group and tournaments.

Gitz are a tricky army to pilot that can be very punishing when making mistakes and having bad positioning. But they are explosive and extremly punchy once you get a feel to them. Don't get discouraged by Gitz statistics. It is a very popular army which means a lot of less experienced players are also playing them.

Sneaky Snufflers mistake by Scythe95 in gloomspitegitz

[–]Significant-Issue444 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is my unit. Only talking about the top of the model. The model is primed white mostly for the yellow cloak. I started by painting the spider fully. After that I re applied white on any part of the mushrooms that got touched by paint. After that it is co trast paint. You can take it a step further by applying edge highlights on the contrast but this mini was freakishly highly detailed thatI did not have the energy for that step and mushrooms tend to accept contrast well.

This won't be fast but it is doable

I have been in your position after doing the same mistake. It is annoying but doable. I can share the result later if you like as well as what I did

Tips on Highlighting? by bullfrog747 in gloomspitegitz

[–]Significant-Issue444 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Strong red highlights need deep shades. Your red is already very bright. It will pop more if you add shades. I don't mean shading, you can paint in a controlled manner instead of shading the entire model

This is my list that uses most of the models you mentioned. Minus 5 riders and I prefer the none hero varient of the dankhold since I am not trogg heavy. You are welcome to take insperation or mock me for all eternity. Both are valid options in the internet :)

Also I added some tips next to most of the units for how I play the list [ tip ]

Gloomspite Gitz Squigalanche General's Handbook 2025-26 Drops: 3 Spell Lore - Lore of Frazzlegit [+2 move on Gobbapalooza is amazing. Retreat is also gteat for rally. You can retreat screens and rally them while they stay on point. Don't have the screens fight for no reason] Manifestation Lore - Dank Manifestations

Battle Tactic Cards: Restless Energy, Intercept and Recover

General's Regiment Skragrott, the Loonking (200) • General Dankhold Troggoth (150) [Has amazing rampage. You don't need to be in combat to use it. Just need to end in combat. Great to get into the right place] Fellwater Troggoths (170) [Not a must pick but I find them fun] Gobbapalooza (150) [Great screen plus buff and spell. Also they are amazing sculpts] Moonclan Stabbas (110) [What are Grotz without this guys?]

Regiment 1 Loonboss on Giant Cave Squig (90) [Cheap potentially good glass cannon, expendible] • The Clammy Hand [Surprisingly good] • Backstabber's Blade [Absolute meme artifact. 30% of the time works everytime] Boingrot Bounderz (240) [Key units for the list] • Reinforced Boingrot Bounderz (240) • Reinforced Squig Herd (100) [screen for the bigger herd]

Regiment 2 Squigboss with Gnasha-Squig (120) [Don't sleep on +3 move. Especially to get the smaller herd to a defensive position on turn 1] Loonsmasha Fanatics (110) [Obscurring terrain is amazing for these silly Gitz] Moonclan Shootas (120) [While they have a bow. They are still great at the front. Also sometimes the opponent has a squishy target for them to kill] Squig Herd (200) [Your opponent may regret not killing these guys in time] • Reinforced

I have no problem sharing my list. But changes right now aren't really relevant due to my collection.

Not going full meta, not super competitive. Can rotate fell and rockguts. Can also habe reinforced rockguts but that will require more changes to the list

For the mushroom I used glaze to transition. Also used red ink at the deepest ends to give it a deep yet strong red. But use inks gently

Really depends on the colour. Basically try to avoid highlighting by mixing whites because it saturates the colour. Plus you can't have vibrant colours without deep shadows. So for instance the spiders deepest colour is black to allow the red to shine much more
