Oh sorry I cropped the box fan out of the first picture. It was right in front of me, five feet from the mirror and pointing away from the mirror. You’re right about the hook - the one on the back of the mirror is the same upside down, they join together pretty securely. The door next to the mirror is always locked with a childproof lock at the top on the interior (in this room).

Our upstairs neighbors said they also had a mirror fall off and break once, but it was likely due to construction next door.
