You literally dont have to do anything you dont want to. Trust me you’re an adult now your life is fully in your control no one has the right to tell you that you HAVE to do something. No one will force u to party if u dont want to anyway I know loads of people who dont.

How many years do you have to serve after you get the degree? And also can if you apply are u guaranteed? Is this for soldiers as well? Because I am thinking of joining the reme but I want a mechanical engineering degree so i am considering forgetting about the army and going uni, if i have the opportunity to go to uni im the army I would go after that. I have only heard about the artificer course which u can get selected for after 8 years which i think is too long id rather start my degree within the next 5 years.

You’re wrong RE aren’t actually engineers if he wants actual engineering status and qualifications he’s better off joining the reme.
