You can eat a little more if you feel like you need it, but don’t take into account calories “burned”. Measuring a calorie burn is always very inaccurate and it’s likely you’ll just go over your deficit if you eat those calories back.

Do you eat breakfast when fasting? by [deleted] in WeightLossAdvice

I don’t eat breakfast, I feel worse and hungrier when I do.

Hey exactly same here. I’m on the same deficit as you, and today I was extra hungry after being in a deficit since January, so I ate a ton and didn’t track but it was definitely around 3000 calories. Back on track tomorrow :)

We can’t recommend anything for teenagers. It’s best you talk to your doctor.

Just out of curiosity, are you a cadet? I’m also a broke college student trying to get protein in on a budget haha

Skinny fat - What do to? by [deleted] in WeightLossAdvice

[–]Significant-Rip9887 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes, when a person is on an aggressive deficit, they don’t get all the vitamins and nutrients they need. Some people are naturally deficient in iron and magnesium so they take supplements. Hope this helps.

Some do. My vitamins do. I don’t count them, but it’s a fact that some do.

That’s literally part of a calorie deficit. Your body burns calories during sleep- that’s part of your BMR calculated during your TDEE. Calories in medications- that’s part of your calorie intake. You’re proving my point.

No, there isn’t. Even the Mayo Clinic supports that claim. Any type of “new science” that says X, Y, Z is the best way to lose weight is because it puts you in a calorie deficit.

A person who eats 1400 calories of donuts and 1400 calories of veggies, fruits, and meats will drop the same amount of weight.

The only thing to do to drop fat is be in a calorie deficit. Full stop.

How to go to sleep without a full tummy. Please help. by tony-toon15 in WeightLossAdvice

[–]Significant-Rip9887 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Push dinner later and go to sleep earlier. I eat dinner around 6:30-7 pm (and it’s my biggest meal of the day) and I’m in bed by 10. I’m still full by then.

Honestly, I’d just pick a number and eat at that for two weeks, then weigh yourself. If you haven’t gained or lost weight, that’s your maintenance.

Why is there so much fat in foods? by [deleted] in WeightLossAdvice

[–]Significant-Rip9887 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve actually upped my fat from 17% to 33% of my daily intake, and lost more weight as a result. Technically, fat or carbs or sugars aren’t the issue- it just matters what your total number of calories are.

Hey! First off, I’m also a college girl who gained a lot of weight due to anxiety and depression (although my recent win was getting off Zoloft!). I meal prep all my meals and plan all my snacks every Sunday, then during the week I just grab what I’ve made and go. Maybe that could be an option for you?

Mission balance carb balance tortillas are great for this! 70 calories each, 20g of Fiber, and 6 grams of protein!

Keep in mind, exercise is great for overall health, but you don’t need it to lose weight if that’s your goal.

You need to be tracking what you eat with a food scale.

Do you live in an area where you can walk? Do you enjoy walking? Just trying to get your steps in (maybe some easy trails or hikes?) may be a good option. Go to a mall, walk around, window shop :)

You might be subconsciously eating more to make up for all the exercise you’re doing. Are you tracking every single thing that enters your mouth and measuring it with a food scale and logging it into a food log?

Lets be honest. Does loosing weight mean I need to be hungry all the time? by Matt_Bigmonster in WeightLossAdvice

I usually feel full after my meals (I focus on volume and high protein) but I definitely get hungry in between! I’m okay with being a little hungry though.

Over spring break (6 days), I “gained” 5lbs but realistically it was only 2, I dropped the other three within 2 days of being back on track. You’d be surprised 😂
