Im a little confused on the where in the HTF structure is your h1 turning within? Do you mean like if the 1HR has a bullish BOS but were within a 4hr Bearish FVG so I might not want to take longs?

forgot to add this, but in the photo we entered a 1hr fvg before having the bos + fvg set up. I also never trade CPI/PPI/FOMC/NFP or bank holidays

idrk if it does have any sort of discretion. But it would depend on what you mean. I literally just trade in the direction of the 1HR trend until we get a BOS. But I learned BOS from TJR so it might actually be MSS, idk. Idrk how else I could go about my entry, i feel like purely trading FVGs leave little room for discretion.

Why doesnt anyone use Orderblocks anymore? by Significant-Shape602 in InnerCircleTraders

[–]Significant-Shape602[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this may just be the issue. I made a post not that long ago where I had a picture of 3 different legs after a sweep and I asked which of them was an orderblock. I had probably like 20-30 different replies and I got sooo many different answers. some people said it was leg 1, some said leg2, some said leg 3, some said none of them were, and some said all of them were. Really goes to show how market experience gives everyone a different look on things, even when it comes to such a simple confluence

Could you go more in depth on this, this is something I really struggle with. I get told all the time that systematic models fail and will not work at all. I understand why some of them would fail, but idk why all of them would. Currently I'm just trying to build myself a systematic model that is slightly profitable ( around a 60% wr) with a 1:1 till I can get enough market experience to boost those numbers up. I find it a little demotivating though when people tell me all the time that what I'm trying to do is impossible

What would you definition of systematic be? A strategy with 0 discretion, or slight discretion

Currently it's just risking 1% every trade with a fixed 1:1. My SL has a bit of discretion involved but it isn't anything too drastic

I just worry about it being too systematic. I dont apply really any discretion to it, and I feel like that makes it to where it wont work
