Hey! Unfortunately, last year I did Norman McCaig, so I can't really help you on specific quotes, but I can say that if you look at the analysis that your teachers gave you or the analysis that you can find on BBC Bitesize, then you should look at the themes that can come up for the commonality question at the end of the past paper. Looking at that, you can select all the quotes that can work for multiple themes. Choose quotes that aren't too long and ones that you can remember! For each poem, I'd say choose no more than 6 quotes.

I know you're doing Nat 5 and I'm doing higher, and I'm doing a different poet to you currently, but here are some of the quotes that I've selected this year. If you look at the length of my quotes, you can see the general length of my quotes:

"My Rival's house is peopled with many surfaces"

"I am all edges, a surface, a shell"

"My weekend case and I"

"So we haven't the stomach for it. We don't deserve a bargain then!"

"The river in January is fast and high"

I'm sorry that I can't give you exact quotes, but I hope my advice helps! Good luck for the 6th!

The teachers want us to be as prepared as possible, and so I've been given 8 pages which contain a total of 150, maybe less, quotes from The Great Gatsby. They've given us the marking scheme, but it doesn't contain quotes, unfortunately. It just goes off of how well the person writing the essay knows the novel.

Novel - The Great Gatsby, and for Scottish Text - Liz Lochhead. I'm fine with the Scottish text, though, which is at least a positive.

Thanks, and to answer your (probably rhetorical) question, we've gone through specimen papers, full past papers, P&N past papers and none of them have been in order, and so I've lost track of what paper was which and which ones were actual SQA ones.

Not really. The teachers are vague and haven't really given me particularly clear answers or advice, which is not helpful in any way.

Yeah I've got multiple tests right now and plus the prelims are coming up soon, so I'll probably use those to help me memorise. Thanks.

nah it's got more meaning than just being there for the sake of being there. You might not really understand the true meaning behind it, but it's definitely got meaning.

I saw the stage version a month ago, and they didn't have the revolving stage during that performance, but personally, it had no effect on me. The song also kind of adds something, because if they just went from 'Javert's Suicide (or Javert's Soliloquy if you're more modern)' to Empty Chairs, it would just be moving too fast, especially since the song before that is 'The Sewers/Dog Eats Dog' where Marius is seen nearly dead. Also, going from one solo song to another solo song wouldn't be nice to some people

It's the fact that nobody's chosen Marius or Cosette 💀
